If Christianity is correct then I don't know, but I don't believe in purgatory. I was raised in a Christian home and believed everything up until a few years ago. I started asking questions and looking deeper into the religion and now I don't know where I stand with it. If Jesus is the only way into heaven then I probably wouldn't get in, but I can't be certain of that.

While I don't refute everything about Christianity, I don't necessarily believe it either... but that's probably not enough.

If Christianity is wrong and it's just a measure of our lives, I think I'd go to heaven. I've been a pretty decent guy :P Oddly enough it's not something I think of a whole lot. I would have though it would always be on my mind considering my upbringing.

first of all the bible does not talk approximately purgatory era. Secondly, the reason God forbid premarital intercourse, is as a results of all the topics that incorporates leaping into intercourse till now marriage. in case you're married, there's a stable threat there does no longer be any little ones born to a broken abode. seem at each and all the youngsters on the instant no longer understanding who their mothers and fathers are because of the fact somebody desperate to be a whore or a deadbeat dad and not do the splendid element. So we ought to understand why God forbid fornication. no longer basically which you have STD that could ensue while a individual isn't dedicated to basically one individual.

In the catholic belief system, the only ones to believe in purgatory in christianity, you do not go to purgatory forever, and all christians pass through it before entering heaven to be cleansed of their sins and atone for them. Perhaps you should learn of your religion more.

But as far as what I believe, I dont believe in any of those, but I do belive in a general afterlife. I hope it is not eternal, and I really hope there is none at all. Id rather have my soul obliterated than carry on for all eternity whether im in the fires of hell, in the glory of heaven, floating around in an atral plane, or whatnot.

It must be terribly difficult living from day-to-day trying to earn your redemption. I'm so sorry you feel God's love is so fragile.

I am Christian, but I also believe it is possible that Christ died for everyone. The Bible says that every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess; so if all confess, then do all have salvation? Could it be the pit is for Lucifer and his demons?

God forgives you, and loves you. Accept it...accept it, and let it sink into you personal self and your spirit-person self. God will not reject you, I promise. Try to make peace with yourself. The closer you walk with the Lord, the more pure your thoughts become.

EDIT:

I don't believe in heaven in the traditional concept...at least not a permanent one where we reside forevermore. I think we will be in Paradise again...we will regain the Garden of Eden, and all will go back to the beginning of our history with God, only pure again, and with no desire to sin.

there is NO such thing as a burning hell; or pergatory...Ecclesiates states that the ' dead know nothing'...what kind of god would burn someone who sinned, such as stealing, or committing adultry, along with the likes of Hitler?? In other words..if it doesn't make sense it is NOT from the bible, but only man's teachings. Man was created to live on the earth; God never changed his purpose for it to be a paradise. Read Psalm 37, to start. Evil doers will be destroyed but the earth will be filled, & perfect, as first intended. Wouldn't that be exciting to be a part of it??

I'm saved by the blood of Jesus, so I won't go to hell. I don't believe in purgatory, so that leaves one place.

I pray I'll see you walking through those pearly gates, too!

Praise God! katiefish <><

If those are my three choices, then I guess I would end up in purgatory. I don't believe in God, but I think that I've lived an ethical life and avoided ill will against others, so I guess I'd be caught in the middle.

Purgatory then Heaven

the concepts of 'heaven' and 'hell' were pagani concepts that were adopted INTO christianity. One of the concepts of hell, himmon, was a small valley near Jerusalem where they burnt garbage, pagans, and prisoners. The FIRES burnt continually for centuries, but they are out now.

In the EARLY hebrew scriptures, everyone whether good or bad ALL went to Sheol---a place separate from god.

Honestly, none of the above. I don't believe in any of them, and there is no god that I know of. I also think that everyone struggles with this question of life after death, is there or isn't there, and it is all so pointless bc we won't and can't know. So we should live a good life while we are alive, have fun, kiss babies, eat chocolate, swim in the warm ocean, and do good things for each other and our planet. Those things are REAL. The rest, we'll see...............
