The Gospel of John movie is perhaps the greatest Gospel movie. I watch the 3 hour version over and over again.
My favorite story in the Bible is in John 4.
The story about the Samaritan woman. Here's something it reveals that most Christians are taught to MISS.
She was a descendant of Jacob:
12 "Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"
But she was not a Jew:
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
So she was a descendant of Jacob, and yet not a Jew! How could that be? Because she was a Hebrew, and not all Hebrews were Jews. Only those form the southern kingdom of Judah were called Jews. The children of Israel that settled in the north were referred to as the House of Israel.
And then Jesus spent TWO MORE DAYS after that encounter with them. They were not Jews, they were gentiles. And Jesus STILL wanted to save them.
That is one of my favorite stories in the Bible because it reveals a lot about Jesus, and what he thought was important. He reveals that God is Spirit, throwing a monkey wrench into the thinking of those who doubt the Trinity. Jesus also in this chapter shows that God can be worshiped anywhere:
John 4
21 Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
I think it's a fantastic part of the Bible.

Numbers 22:21-35
Balaam's Donkey...
The Donkey is standing there talking to Balaam, and he carries on the conversation as if it were his next door neighbor at the door to borrow a cup of sugar.
The LORD is speaking through the mouth of the donkey, and still it took the Angel of the LORD to appear before Balaam figured out it was divine providence at work on that road...

My favorite story has always been the story of Joseph. His brothers sold him into slavery and eventually he became a ruler in Eygpt and saved his family from starvation. He forgave his brothers and expressed a truth that helped me all throughout my life. That truth is "what others might mean for evil, God can use for good".

I too like to read Gospel of John very much. But when I knew that God exists and Jesus is alive, I knew that Jesus was sent from heaven and He knew many things about heaven and God than any man can ever know. So initially I read all about Jesus teaching of kingdom of God and also what God expects from us.
Here's how amazingly God changed my life..

One that comes to mind is Elijah on Mt Carmel defying or challenging the profits of Baal to a "duel." Then when Jesus, excuse my vernacular, kicked the money changers out of the temple.[Not so much a kinder and gentler Jesus that some churches misrepresent. He is the LORD]. See below pictures of Mt.Carmel.

Story of the Son of God who came as mere man and died for us on the Calvary. The man who created light was in darkness. The man who created the whole amazing universe, became a trainee carpenter under his earthly father carpenter Joseph.
The one who was enthroned in heaven took cross as his deathbed. Isn't it amazing? Amazing love story. He loved me and you this much.
What are we for Him to die in this shameful way. This is the love of a creator to His creation....Amazing Story
