So that they can get a parking spot up close?
They hold up a line behind them and people get so mad and try to go around everyone else.
So, you have to walk a few more steps.
With the majority of the society being so overweight, wouldn't it make sense to walk just a wee bit more for exercise?
I don't get mad, just wondering as to why it is so important to some people to be so close. Of course this does not apply to handicap people or disabled.

preach it girl...just the fact that they are jamming up the line should be enough of a reason to move out of the way but people are self-centered and down right rude sometimes.
by the time it took them to wait they could have parked and walked in.

I don't understand why people go out of their way to get so close. I have literally parked at the end of a row after going around someone waiting for a space, gone into the store, and come out with them still driving around. Get your fat a** out of the car. It’s a parking lot not a marathon or some sort of jungle safari. You **CAN'T** even walk far enough to get drenched in sweat or get a heat stroke. And if you can, you should seek medical attention like right f**king now, because you're about to die.

Because people are getting lazier - and fatter because of it. Ok fairs fair if there is a disability or an injury or something, but for the most part - sheer laziness! Bet your bottom dollar, if you parked further out (which I do) away from the crowd - you'll beat the ones waiting in the door!! We were given legs..

I agree with you, and personally try to park away from other cars, and position my car so that it is easy to get out. I seldom get my car scratched by parking away also. I don't go shopping and car in outdoor parking areas, when it's raining.

The real answer, of course, is that they are just plain LAZY. Without turning politically INcorrect, I won't say who, but check out who does it the most. There is a pattern.

Most of the time, it's laziness.

However, some people do have disabilities, illnesses, etc. that make them want to park up front. My aunt currently has spurs in her feet. I wouldn't blame her for wanting to park up front.

But most of the time---laziness.

I only try and park close at night, I have had an encounter in the parking lot once, scared the crap out of me.

Becuase if it is a hot day I don't want to have a heat stroke walking into the store, or if it is raining I don't want to get all drenched.

Because a lot of people are inconsiderate of others.
