They are fine. Sometimes it just takes longer for puppies to mature. It's like babies. Some human babies walk at 9 or 10 months old and some walk at 18-20 months old. They are both ok, one just develops faster than the other. Eventually they both walk. And eventually your puppies will open their eyes. It is just a development process. They are fine.

Puppies won't open their eyes for about 10-14 days. Even once their eyes are open, their vision isn't that great for the first while.

If this is your first litter of puppies, I'd recommend getting yourself a good dog breeding book asap so that you'll have answers to questions such as this on hand. You should also get your momma and babies into a vet for a checkup right away. Early checkups can help detect a whole host of problems, and save you a lot of heartache and vetbills later on that inexperience invariably brings.
Best of luck and congratluations with your litter!

edit some puppies may not open there eyes until they are 3 wks old

no worries, puppies open their eyes when they are ready. The sperm and egg sometimes fertilize and implant on different days than the other ones in the same pregnancy. Therefore, some pups are more "developed" than others. The female can get pregnant over the span of a few days, so not to worry. They will be fine, just keep the nest clean, and they will be fine..

Its nothing to worry about, they will open them soon. They should open them within the week. I have never heard of a problem with puppies opening their eyes. It does not always happen right at 2 weeks old, some take just a little longer.

it's normal. the average time is at 2 weeks. they will open them. if you notice a nasty discharge contact your vet. but you will be surprise to find every puppy looking up at you, ok well at least having their eyes open, by the end of the week. same with their ears opening. every infant of every species matures at a different rate and what you read is always just the average. someone had to do it sooner and someone had to do it later to get that average. good luck with the pups. hope you have wonderful homes waiting for them already!

Well... Eyes open when they are developed properly.. They normally open between 10 and 14 days. If they are 2 weeks today, I wouldn't be too worried yet, but if they take too much longer, I would be getting worried about it.

I would say that they start opening their eyes around two weeks. No need to worry...I bet tomorrow, you will either start seeing the lids separate, or they will be wide eyed! Sometimes the eyes open so quickly...other times, it takes a few days.
