It won't make any difference why:
Keep doing that and your dentist will get to know you too well. You'll need stainless steel teeth!
Eat a carrot!

My daughter has the same problem. She loves crunching on huge cups of ice. She's broken off several teeth in the back from this habit, you'd think that would be enough to deter her.......but it doesn't.

Thank goodness she's a dental assistant and all of her work is free.

ps.......this might be an old wives tale, but I've heard that people who crave ice are usually iron deficient and/or anemic.

Pagophagia is the compulsive consumption of ice.
It has been shown to respond to iron supplementation, leading some investigators to postulate that pica is the result, not the cause, of nutritional deficiency (specifically, deficiencies of iron, zinc, magnesium, and phosphorus).

Folk wisdom (and some early investigators) maintained that pica reflected an appetite to compensate for some problem. Ice probably helps relieve some of the symptoms of low iron....

You have an addiction to eating ice. It's okay. I have friends that do it. But you should try to quit. It could lead to other risks other than just hurting your teeth. Check out the article below.
