Ive heard someone(Canadian) say in passing that most of America has A.D.D. ( and this was an insult not a fact). So im just wondering if Canada is all that much better than America or if its the same or worse?

idk exactly wat they meant but im asking in broader terms about them in comparison. I dnt think that person meant that they actually meant that we have add but just to say something to insult us

haha ur good adm lvr, a tru adam gontier fan id say but neways i was just wanting kno the motive behind wat he said. I mean dnt get me wrong im a fan and all that good stuff but i was a little insulted because i ddnt feel like he meant the disorder of ADD but he meant to insult Americans. But idk y he would cause he has such a large fan base over here, so maybe im wrong. But still if he actually meant the disorder why did he say America because dnt Canadians have it to and the british....no i think he meant it to insult us...i just lost respect for him because of it although i still love his music.

I believe that statement was referring to the American media and how it truly is aimed at people with a short attention span.

Those kind of people (A.D.D.) are everywhere - but it's America that happily perpetuates the condition by feeding their TV Nation with pablum, making it unnecessary for them to put much effort into being entertained.

If anyone is to blame here, it's the media - no one can be faulted for simply pointing out the facts.

Hubbs - I met a girl in Scotland who wanted to come to Wyoming and become an RCMP. No one else in the world knows as much about Canada as we Canadians do.

Television- Television is basically s***....It's been molded to revolve around the A.D.D that most of America has today....I don't watch much t.v...
ADD - attention deficit disorder

That above was from Adam Gontier's old Myspace page. But the point is what he meant is that right at that time period was when a lot of reality t.v. shows were coming out like The Real World or Surreal Life. Americans were not paying attention to what is really important in life other than seven 25 year olds scewing each other on t.v. and partying. Or shows like Date My Mom and Next they are all un-nessasary for the American viewers. In a shorter version he is saying t.v. now a days is just a bunch of bull s***. And all these shows are being made by who other else than the "ADD Americans". So Adam decides for himself to not watch that much t.v. because the shows do not suit his particualr intrests. So yes that was a mean comment but it doesn't make Canada better, worse, or even the same. It was just one guys opinion. It is as simple as Canada being Canada and America being America. Everyone shoud just worry about themselves and not others.

What was meant, I think, is that America pays so little attention to foreign affairs and international politics -- and so much attention to sports and celebrities -- that it is as if the entire American nation was afflicted with ADD.

Europeans and Canadians tend to be much more interested in important things like politics and economics than in, say, Paris Hilton.

I'm not sure just what your question is frankly. Yes some Canadians insult the US. Some Americans insult Canadians.

Idiots live everywhere. Is that what you are wondering??

I wouldnt take it as an insult but the truth. I was in florida and met this girl at a restaurant (she was 19 and in school) She didnt know where Canada was and thought that Canada was a part of the USA. As a matter of fact she couldnt even pronounce Canada properly and she was convinced that we all lived in igloo's and ate seal 3 meals a day.

Canada and America aren't too different. And what ever that person said, was their opinion, its not like all of us in Canada feel the same way.

canadians are very different people...they were raised knowing that they would fail at everything, therefore they accept being less than AMERICANS......they will never match us in anything....that is why they always copy everything AMERICA does first, why do you think so many canadians sew AMERICAN flags onto their backpacks when they travel abroad?
