I consider myself more leaning agnostic than atheist, but I'll answer anyways.

As far as personal beliefs go, I don't see evidence one way or the other for any sort of controlling deity. If there is a God, it isn't really trying too hard to make itself known to me. If it doesn't care, why should I? Also, I see no need for the existence of God; the idea once existed so people could have explanations for the world around them, but I am perfectly satisfied with the explanations science can give me.

Politically, I call myself an atheist, because I don't like how people use religion as a political tool, and regardless of whether or not there actually is a God, I am opposed to the use of God as a way of scaring people into doing the bidding of whoever is in power.

I'm not really sure if this is the kind of answer you were looking for, but that's how I feel about it.

Technically we Atheists are agnostic in a sense. There is no proof that there is not some higher power or being neither is there proof that there is.

However I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no loving god who cares for us and about us. I am an Atheist.

Agnosticism is the statement that God's existence is unknowable, and therefore they are comfortable living with the ambiguity of lacking such knowledge.
