Does that mean I am doing something wrong? It feels like I'm using my neck to help me sit up. If it's normal, please tell me, and if not, any suggestions on how to improve my technique?

that does happen to me somtimes. its because youre trying to lift your upperbody/head up with your neck. you should try using your stomach only. if you put your hands on your hand, you are doing it wrong. try crossing your arms on your chest and hold your shoulders. it is kinda hard to maintain a good form, but it works.

It sounds like you have some sort of infection. Whenever I have strept throat, I ALWAYS get ear aches. So, it's a good thing you are going to the doctors. Honey has long been used as a sore throat remedy. It has antibacterial properties which can help heal it faster. It also draws water out of inflamed tissue. It reduces the swelling and discomfort. Add several teaspoons to 1 cup of hot water or herbal tea. You can also put honey in hot lemonade, it relieves the pain. Try taking vitamin C three times a day. It will help boost your immune system and fight off the infection. I hope you feel better! Hm.. well it really works. If you don't like that, I know there is some kind of medicine which you can buy at any drug store. You spray it in the back of your throat, and it numbs it. Works well.

Keep your neck still if you don't want it to hurt and rest between workouts to give your body's muscles time to repair themselves.

You are doing them wrong - your head or hands shouldnt be helping you - all that is working is your abs.
