I am 26, My BMR is approx 3500 with my level of activity. I work out hard twice a day for 1 hour each time and eat 5-6 times a day equaling about 1600 calories per day, sometimes more if I feel hungry.

I am comfortable with this routine and actually feel better than I ever have. Is it safe to do this???

I need to lose about 100 pounds over time ( I am naturally athletic, so it makes jumping back to excercise easy), but my main objective is to be fit and healthy.

you never want to consume less cals than the BMR requires. if you need 3500 cals to maintain your current bodyweight with your daily level of activity the the safest method of weight loss is to just decrease your cals by 500 daily. stay at that level of several weeks and see what happens. you should be tracking your body fat bi-weekly. if you decrease your cals from 3500 to 1600 your metabolic rate will slow impeding fat loss. the body does not like drastic changes, it is one of many forms of trauma than can be induced on the body

No it isn't safe or healthy. Having a 2000 calories deficit per week will make you lose about 4 pounds per week. You should only be losing about 2 pounds per week which is a 1000 calorie deficit per day.

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

I think the answer lies in how much you are losing every week. If it is more than two (2) pounds a week, you might want to boost you caloric intake. That's safe weight loss. By the way I would die for your BMR.

Obama has doubled the deficit on account that he took over. All you human beings... the militia is funded. between the main important issues we fund. No unpaid for wars. they're paid for. Tax cuts on no account could desire to be paid for. it is entirely a stupid term you libs tossed out. If sales is cut back, you chop back your spending. no longer that no longer basic to verify, even for a Lib. (One could think of)
