I believe so also. I've read a few books that explore this theory. One was by Silvia Browne, The Mystical Life of Jesus. It's an extremely interesting & contraversial theory that would undermine the history of Christianity that we've all been "taught" if proven true. If it is true, maybe the religious officials at the time felt it would be unorthadox to portray Jesus as having been married while still devoting his life to his spiritual quests. It would make sense that something like this would be kept secret because if the truth was revealed then there would be no excuse to deny women the right to become priests...opps, did I say that aloud! lol

There is 18 missing years in the life of Jesus, (ages 13-29). I think marriage is a viable possibility. I don't know if it would be Mary Magdalene. It may be someone forever forgotten. I think the De Vinci code is imagination. But I saw a special about that tomb mentioned by Gage M. They make a very good case that it is the tomb of THE Jesus and other close people. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Tomb_of_Jesus
Six oshuaries had inscriptions.
Jesus son of Joseph.
Maria
Jose son of Joseph.
Matthew
Mariamne
Judah son of Jesus
Ancient writings show the mother of Jesus went by the Latin version of Mary, Maria. They also show Mary Magdalene went by the rare version, Mariamne and a Brother of Jesus went by the rare version of Joseph, Jose. They also showed it very likely that a stolen oshuary also belongs in that tomb. It is inscribed, "James son of Joseph. Jesus did have a brother named James. If it truly belongs, that would make it certain that this is indeed the lost tomb of Jesus.
It is rather earth shaking. Perhaps in one or two hundred years it will be considered the archaeological find of the ages. But for the present it is very hard for people to accept.

for Jesus to have been married, he would have had to sin...via lust. The bible says over and over again that Jesus was WITHOUT SIN. now i am not saying that marriage is a sin, or post marital sex is a sin, but the thought of marriage brings on lust and other sins of the flesh if you will. So its impossible for Jesus to have been married. Mary Magdaline was on the verge of being stoned for prostitution, Jesus saved her life with His words. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".. Mary became a follower of Jesus' teachings, Jesus is then crucified, he arises and ascends, end of story. The bible was inspired by God, written by His discliples, and they never thought women would take over the church, so you can go ahead and rule the thought of them altering the Bible out of your head. And dont think another church (The Roman Catholic Church) later changed it, because the Roman Catholic Church was the church that saved the Bible from being destroyed, they preserved it and kept it a holy doctrine. And being God fearing people, they knew the consequences of altering the Bible would be catastrophic. Revelations 22: 17-19 "Do not add or take away from this book" That means, do not make accusations that Mary and Jesus were married, when the Bible never mentions it. Just leave it be.
God Bless
Gage M: that theory of the tombs being found is a lie. You have no clue how popular the names: Jesus, Mary, and Judah were in those days. And besides, the Bible says that Jesus was buried in a family FRIENDS' tomb, not a tomb of his family, but of another. And no one knew the location of his tomb, therefore it would be IMPOSSIBLE for Mary to be laid to rest along side Jesus, plus Jesus ascended into heaven body and soul, leaving no trace of his existance except the shroud of turin. So your logic is sadly flawed. Go read your Bible carefully

If disbelieve the Holy Bible and believe what some church officials thought long after Jesus had returned to Heaven, then it is safe to guess then you also believe it "might be possible and true" that pigs can fly.
The simple truth is this: Jesus drove the political and religious leaders nuts because He was infinitely kind and respectful and compassionate toward women. Before Jesus, no man would have ever spoken to the woman at the well, and asked her for a drink of water. Women were basically invisible and unimportant to men. Jesus further infuriated political and religious leaders when they threw the adulterous woman at Jesus' feet, while they each held a heavy stone in their hands prepared to stone her to death as was the custom, although the adulterous male was not so punished nor was he publicly embarrassed as they did the woman. Jesus looked down at the woman weeping and shaking in terror at his feet, then at the self-righteous men standing there gleefully waiting to stone her to death, when Jesus said loud enough for everyone watching, not just the leaders to hear Him say, "Whoever among you is without ANY sin may cast your stone." They all dropped their stones and faded away through the stunned crowds in shame.
Then Jesus helped the crying woman to her feet and told her, "Neither do I condemn you, go now and sin no more."
Besides, Jesus knew His time on Earth was very short, He was too focused on teaching and helping man to come to know and understand Almighty God and The Kingdom of Heaven & Almighty God's plan of salvation to bother with simple carnal things. Jesus Christ needed to remain sinless, pure, and perfect...in other words a virgin in body and mind, and He was.

If Jesus did exist he was most likely married. It would be highly unusual for a Jewish man of that time to be unmarried at the age of 30. He would have been married for several years and expected to have at least a couple of children by that age. If he had married and been widowed, which is a possibility, he may have married the woman name Mary Magdalene. It makes no difference in the great scheme of things.

No, Jesus was on a mission. He was too busy. He was a travelling preacher and usually they don't marry. Remember when he was being rubbed with oil and Judus got angry. This shows that Judus was not use to Jesus taking any kind of pleasure. I do think woman were much more important to the early church than is let on. The earliest report from the Romans about Christians mentions women leaders "deaconesses." It's a letter from Turkey to the Romans leaders asking what to do with this new group.

None of the biblical gospels relate where and what 'Jesus' was doing basically from the age of 12--reading scriptures with the rabbis and when he comes out preachin around 30. Tradition at the time would hold that after becoming a man (13yrs), hebrew men were expected to marry.
In many of the OLDER gnostic scriptures (older than NT biblical accounts), do have 'Jesus' being married to "Mary of Magdolin" or depict her has the 'favorite' disciple.

Here are some interesting "heresies" written by the early christians. Read carefully.
Pistis Sophia book I
...Peter leapt forward, he said to Jesus: "My Lord, we are not able to suffer this woman who takes the opportunity from us, and does not allow anyone of us to speak, but she speaks many times." Jesus answered, he said to his disciples : "Let him in whom the power of his Spirit has welled up so that he understands what I say, come forward and speak.
Pistis Sophia book II
Mary came forward. She said: "My Lord, my mind is understanding at all times that I should come forward and give the interpretation of the words which she spoke, but I am afraid of Peter, for he threatens me and he hates our race [women]."
The Dialogue of the Savior
Mary said, "Thus with respect to 'the wickedness of each day,' and 'the laborer is worthy of his food,' and 'the disciple resembles his teacher.'" She uttered this as a woman who had understood completely.
Peter was against the woman (even in the NT Jesus calls him "Satan"), that's why Peter's disciples (the Church fathers), didn't include her gospel (and made her a demon-possessed whore) or any scriptures written by woman, and there are many.
And those who claim there's no historical evidence should know that it was a rabbis duty to marry. Also read about the marriage in Cana mentioned in the NT, who is being married, Bugs Bunny?

Jesus was not married. Plain and simple. Jesus was pure. He came here to do one thing and one thing only: to teach us about God and about the Kingdom that is waiting for us and to take away our sins. I'm sure he may have had flesh-like temptations, though. He was a man after all. He lived the most humblest life in the most humblest settings. God allowed Satan to tempt Jesus, and we all know that Satan will use everything he can, even sex, to tempt people with. But Jesus never gave in. Mary Magdaline was a real person, but she and Jesus never had anything like that between them.

Jesus was possibly married. That fact would have no bearing on our Salvation. We know that He was fully man as well as fully God and experienced the things that men do. Marriage was expected of virtuallly all Jewish men. Most men married at 17 or 18, and therefore He had time to learn a trade and have a family BEFORE his full time mission. Rabbis had to be married and be 30 years old according to Jewish law, Jesus taught in the synagogue and was called Rabbi. There is conjecture that the Marriage at Cana was the marriage of Jesus, since by custom the bridegroom was in charge of providing the wine. Mary was the hostess, and therefore if not Jesus it was probably the marriage of one of his brothers. Jesus being married does not lower him at all as far as his Messianic Mission is concerned and there is nothing shameful about the idea. I am not saying I believe it, but it's possible.
