God made AIDS to get rid of gays?

There was this one guy who said, "So HIV and AIDS were nature’s way of trying to eliminate the homosexuals, it however raged out of control and is now affecting millions of heterosexual couples every month."

So apparently, God gave us AIDS to get rid of gay people. He must not like Asian people very much since he gave them SARS and the bird flu. He must not like the people that lived near the Indian Ocean in 2004 either. Oh, and can't forget England and the Mad Cow Disease. And Katrina, oh yeah, and the Holocaust.

Why do these mental midgets always blame God? Considering that God must have created gays to begin with (or do they think they are "big" enough to criticize God's creations, what God decides is right). AIDS is a disease, probably started in animals and mutated to become so lethal to humans, probably if humans had not figured out how to travel so fast and to everywhere, it would have stayed localized and eventually died out (in humans) because they'd be so isolated but because humans are everywhere now, it spread fast. And because it does mutate, it's been hard to control. God had nothing to do with it. God doesn't make hurricanes and tsunamis and earthquakes hit human populated places; God doesn't send droughts or locust invasions. There isn't anywhere in this world that is completely safe from some natural disaster--so do we blame God for it? Do we presume that the people who got messed up by the disaster all did bad things? No. Some people just have mental problems and cannot logically figure out that things happen in this world that have nothing to do with whatever we small, insignificant little life forms want or think or do. Just don't let those idiots influence you and your superior understanding of life here on Earth.

People are just afraid of what they don't understand. They try to blame people for things that they don't have answers for. It is true that a lot of gay men have AIDS and the reason being that a lot of people aren't using protection. And the same goes for straight people. Men are sexual beings and when there are two of them together that are attracted to each other, there is a lot more chance of them having sex than if it were a straight couple. At the same time, there are a lot of promiscuous girls that aren't using protection either. It has nothing to do with god or anything. It's just a disease. Saying that AIDS is gods way of getting rid of homosexuals is like saying that breast cancer is gods way of getting rid of women. It outrages you doesn't it? The same way that it outrages me when people say things like that about gays and AIDS.

What I think is this - I think the WHO The World Health Organization is resposible for AIDS. They were the ones who went down to Africa to innoculate the people and they were the ones who subsituted the gene in the vaccine because they didn't have enough to go around. There was a gay Pan Am steward who got the disease and transmitted it around during his International stops. That's how it got started. It wasn't God punishing a group of peoples. It was Man just like always.

Who knows if AIDS is a punishment or judgement of God?
The idea that HIV/AIDS is a punishment from God can be based:
1 - that homosexual acts are sinful,
2 - that God causes suffering,
3 - and that God punishes sin with disease.
All this can result from a particular way of looking at society, sexuality, and how God works in the world.

I could only wish it was that easy to say but it isn't. If GOD just makes things go wrong in life then why wouldn't GOD decide to make things right? GOD does not want bad things to happen to people. If he could make things happen then there would be no such thing as AIDS and HIV. GOD would not want to wish anything wrong or ill upon anyone so if he had that much control he would take all EVIL and BAD away. Unfortunately bad things happen to people and there are alot of things that are out of our control. All we can do is live a life with love, kindness and treat others with respect. Set a positive example so that others will follow. Pray for those who need help or are ill and wish the best upon everyone in this wonderful world that we live in. I thank GOD everyday for giving me such a wonderful life.

Yeah i agree with you. I'm agnostic so i dont believe in god. But also like to say in relation to some answers to gay guys that are known as a "sin" in the bible. I think this is total bull crap. I cant put it in any other way. It reminds me of the Phelps family.. If you dont know, there pretty much the most hated family in America. They also say that AIDS cures Gays. therefore implying they will die, so good riddens. They’ll picket dead soldiers funerals claiming a link between homosexuality in America and their death. It’s crass and utterly disgusting. The way that even so called " religious" people discriminate others for situations that they cant control shows the kind of crap we have come to expect from fundamental Christians. Look at all the good they have done to the world. Kudos on their good work. ( dont get me wrong only some christians belibe this. I know plenty of heart filled Christians too. )

People like to say "God is the reason" as the cause to endless maladies and worldly problems... I believe it is just "Life". Either we use are brains to figure out what is the real cause of the problem, or we keep letting the socio-paths decide for us. If God created AIDS why couldn't he control it? Since its very hard for women to transmit HIV between each other, does that mean God loves lesbians more than anyone else?

They also seem to conveniently forget that the majority of AIDS victims in the beginning were hemophiliacs, not homosexuals and that currently the fastest growing population of new AIDS cases are heterosexuals. So I guess God really hates people with bleeding diseases and heterosexuals as well.
