Another verse you could've used was 1st Corinthians 10:13 -- to paraphrase, God will give you a way out of every temptation.
Having said that, and based on that verse mainly, I believe that it is theoretically possible to be perfect, but the combined temptations of the devil, the world, and our sinful nature are a very powerful force indeed, causing Christians to "crack" every day.
Also, based on belief in Jesus' death to pay for our sins, in God's eyes we are already perfect, as long as we have faith in Him to forgive these daily sins.

Yes, it is possible.
Matthew 5
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Perfection is an eternal goal, not a mortal possibility. It is, however, a commandment that can, over time and because of the Atonement, be kept. President Joseph Fielding Smith observed: “I believe the Lord meant just what he said: that we should be perfect, as our Father in heaven is perfect. That will not come all at once, but line upon line, and precept upon precept, example upon example, and even then not as long as we live in this mortal life, for we will have to go even beyond the grave before we reach that perfection and shall be like God.

“But here we lay the foundation. Here is where we are taught these simple truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in this probationary state, to prepare us for that perfection. It is our duty to be better today than we were yesterday, and better tomorrow than we are today. Why? Because … if we are keeping the commandments of the Lord, we are on that road to perfection, and that can only come through obedience and the desire in our hearts to overcome the world.

God cannot make someone perfect like Him.

UNLESS that someone voluntarily gave his heart to be perfect.

Because we are not robots...God gave us free will. It is up to us to want to be perfect and holy like He wants us to.

Once, we chose to be perfect, then we asks for His help...and He will send the Holy Spirit to help us...to be perfect and holy...till the time He took us back to our home in Heaven.

It was not impossible, but it was a constant battle with the evil and the world...

God gave us choices in living our life. You can choose to be mad at everyone or forgive everyone. You can choose to have a negative judgement at people or have positive ones...you can choose to kill or not to kill...to committ adultery or not to commit adultery, etc etc...it is up to us.

And it's not impossible...to be perfect like Jesus...you can read the life of the Saints...Saint Anthony from Padua, Saint Briggitta from Sweden...and the most recent one, Mother Teresa....or even Pope John Paul II....(see www.catholic.org)....it's not about can or cannot do. It's about do you want it or not? coz if you want it.....give your heart and commitment to the Lord and He will strengthen you.
