It's like this:
Colossians 2
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
Does the music bother you? Then you are right not to listen to it. But what of the music that does not bother you Metal or not? Is it bothering someone who seeks to bond you to their control? Then this is what I apply to them;
20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"?
22 These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.
and
Romans 14
1 Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters.
So then how do we know that we are right about what we allow for us to do for ourselves:
2 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
This is about application. It is not only about eating, and don't allow anyone to tell you it does.
What you have is the freedom that is given to you by God to listen to any kind of music you like. Those that do not approve shouldn't listen to it. It's your conscience that says it's okay, and that is not a sin for you. For another, it is sin.
So do not allow others to trouble you on these things, if God wants you to change, then He will change you.

Bands that have questionable material in some of their songs generally have these themes running through all their music, this is true with people as a whole as well. If someone preaches that I should become a suicide bomber in the name of God then I wouldn't just switch off when they preached, I would not speak to them at all. I don't want this negativity in my life. Period. I would suggest that you stop listening to this music and find a different passion to focus on. That is my humble view and should be taken as my humble view. But this is my experience and sometimes we must all learn by walking the road, not just being told the way. Avoid it if you value my opinion, but your life is your own and you will ultimately decide for yourself.

Yes i definitely think so. If a song is not inspired by the Spirit of God then it must be inspired by something else. Remember now that Lucifer is the chief of music and he can do whatever he pleases through music. Music is the only thing on this earth that can invade your mind without your permission. Have you ever noticed how inclined you are to move or dance when you hear it? Have you ever caught yourself gently moving to the rhythm of a song, without consciously making any effort to? That's the power of music. If this band does not support God, then it cannot be of God. So there lies your answer.
Ezekiel 28:13
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: THE WORKMANSHIP OF THY TABRETS AND OF THY PIPES WAS PREPARED IN THE DAY THAT THOU WAST CREATED.
Isaiah 14:11
All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the NOISE OF YOUR HARPS; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you.)-(New International

I would say to avoid evil, Way back when I was dating my mom always said, "remember, the Holy Ghost goes to bed at midnight." In other words if you come home early you have less temptation, but you have your freedom of choice to pick and choose.
There is no hard and fast rule about what you choose to listen to and where you go and with whom you associate. Paul said to put on the whole armor of God to be prepared for the onslaught of Satan's arrows. The fact that you are freaked out may be a hint as to what you might be most comfortable in choosing to do.

Only you can make that decision...do they turn you from God, are they creating within you a war of sorts? The bible tells us to guard our hearts, they will be exposed to many things that are just plain evil..the hard part is to discern good from evil these days. I will not go the full way and say yes to your question. but I will give you this advise, if they are causing you to have a battle in your soul they can not be good. Be careful what you give thought to.."For as a man thinks so is he." if you feed your mind garbage only garbage will come out, if you feed it good things good things will come out. Peace..PS there are many good Christian bands to listen to..Skillet, Kutless..DC Talk..if you like rap Gospel gangstas, T-Bone...

The number of real "Satanic" rock bands on earth is miniscule. Most of them simply attempt to sell an image of rebellion to kids, and for the most part are successful. LOL...Many years ago, my old preacher was highly displeased to find out that I liked AC/DC when I was younger, and gave my mother a pamphlet about this so-called "devil music". Listen to your music, enjoy it, but don't take it too seriously. Life is too short to live in fear of your own radio.

I don't believe that the type of music you listen to makes you a bad person. We listen to what we feel like based on our moods. Considering the songs you mentioned make you feel uncomfortable I wouldn't listen to them. Why listen to something that doesn't make you happy or feel good about yourself?

Just listen to the ones you like. You don't have to like the entire album. I think some metal bands have lots of angst. Angst in young men is natural.
If your conscience is telling you to stop, then don't listen to it. That way, you won't be bothered. Being guilt-free is good too.
