The dumbest excuse I ever heard "from a supposed Christian(s)" was, and still seems to be the #1 heresy...
You don't have to attend a Church to be a Christian, and God does not need you to go to Church.
The Apostle John says we do need to fellowship with the bretheren...
John 1:3 "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ."
So does the Apostle Paul...
1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord."
The Apostle Peter says to share your gifts of the Spirit with your fellow Christians...
1 Peter 4:10 "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
We are all members of the Body of Christ. This verse tells us how much we need each other...
1 Corinthians 1:12 " And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you."
We need to interact with each other...
1 Thessalonians 4:18 "Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do."
James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
Hebrews 13:17 Tells us there is a reason for Pastor's of the Church, and what happens to these under-shepherd's if they fail, or if they succeed! A Pastor standing before the BEMA Judgement Seat of Christ will account for every sheep placed in his care...
"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you."
Hebrews 10:25 is the very bottom line!
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
There is a reason for the "local church", and to say that God does not need or care if you do not fellowship is a direct contridiction of God's very commands.

I even have performed with the terrific Maestri over many many years with the Metropolitan Opera Orcestra 33years. The Boston Symphony / Pops and an incredible style of greater, yet that must be adequate to validate my journey.. approximately your religous ideals ~ it incredibly is a private element, yet in spite of if i replaced into born into an extremely Jewish kinfolk, I even have had years of reading faith.. We study while we are youthful and understand while we become old ! i'm no longer a religous training individual and till i surely see a image of Jesus, or a video on YouTube of Moses crossing the pink Sea i've got not got faith in something.. I do have faith interior the great bang and evolution.. all of us choose for to have faith what we choose for to have faith in.. i've got faith that there is not any room for bigotry, discrimination et al against everybody's faith, ethnicity, race etc. etc.. i will inform you one reason i've got faith all human beings are equivalent ~~ " Does maximum cancers or Viruses or any affliction discriminate interior the different races, religions, ethnicities etc.??? Instead of asking a question like this, as christians we should be trying to figure out what is wrong with our churches and why do they seem so uninviting. Find a solution, do your part and try to be someone that is not part of the problem.

There isn't a dumb excuse. If you don't want to go, you don't have to. If you're forced to, child abuse! :D
My excuse? "Mommy.. I threw a match in the engine again.."
Glad I'm not a Christian anymore. Now I don't think that everything will just be forgiven if I ask for it..

The dumbest excuse I've heard is "I was abused and mistreated in the church, and I don't feel comfortable or welcomed anymore".
Gosh, how lame is that?
P.S. For those of you that don't recognise, I was being sarcastic.

My brother wormed out once by telling my grandpa he had to iron shirts for my mother.
I thought it was funny, seeing as how he doesn't even know how to turn the iron on, let alone work it properly.

"I have a tattoo"
Yep...
It really doesn't matter, to me though, I think someone's house could be their church if they wanted it to. My church is in a box.

There is no dumb excuse.
Perhaps the reason why many do not go to church is that church is irrelevant to their lives.
