Life is not just being in a world that consists of a few dimensions and judged by elapsed time in passing through the here and now. Life has literally trillions to the power of google dimensions because you me and everything that lives, cares for themselves, where the one’s in power, are callous towards almost everyone of those different dimensions, except for their own that is, so what’s the difference between murder and killing?

I'm not sure there is a difference in the eyes of God. Sin is sin. Man puts the degrees of heniousness on murder. 1st degree, 2nd degree, Manslaughter, etc. Is killing an infant worse than killing a 45 year old man? To us it is but to God? I think murder is premeditated and killing could be by accident. But that's case by case. All I know is I am thankful that I don't have the job that God does - sorting it all out and passing judgement. Moses killed an Egyptian for beating a jewish slave. Murder or a killing? Moses didn't make it into the promised land. Don't know what that may or may not mean except this - don't kill regardless of the reason.

One is punishable by law in all counts, while the other is punishable by law depending on the situation, but they are basically one and the same. Well some may say we cannot murder an ant for example, we just killed it. In both scenarios the life is taken away from the object which is all that should really matter, but it doesn't. That's life though, i hate killing mosquitoes but they give me no choice, in my Honor, i will plead self defense!

God bless

I agree with PaulCyp, in that murder is taken as more serious, I think people tend to brush off killing a mouse but take killing a person as more serious and give it a name. also, murder is specifically defined as "the unlawful premeditated killing of a human being by a human being", as opposed to a human killing an animal or an animal killing a person.

However, I'm a vegetarian and opposed to animal cruelty, so I consider killing defenseless animals murder (the infamous veggie/vegan slogan "meat is murder")..

I suppose it all depends.

Murder is the unlawful taking of life, usually with malice and intent. Killing is sometimes lawful, but only under certain conditions and rules of conduct, including times of war and self defense for example.

Murder is the premeditated destruction of a human life without just cause. Killing is a much more general term. You can kill weeds. You can kill mice by setting a mousetrap. You can kill infectious microorganisms by taking an antibiotic. You can kill animals for food. You can kill another human being in self defense if no non-lethal means of saving your own life is available (just cause). You can kill another person accidentally.

Murder is unlawful killing. The business of life having many dimensions is (a) false, and (b) irrelevant to the question.

Murder is to take the life of an innocent.

To kill is to take life as a punishment for having killed someone else or broken another law with those consequences put upon it.
