talk about embarrassing but woke up this morning with a very painful bump that feels hard like a second bone under my tailbone (above the anus). its under my skin but it really hurts when i sit on it or put any sort of pressure on it. i've read some stuff on the internet about it but i cant really find similar problems to mine.

i havent told anyone because i dont know if its a really big deal or not yet (or if it will go away on its own), but my mom thinks im paranoid about my health most of the time which is why i didnt tell her. please give me any advice at all, i want to avoid a doc if i can but ill do what i have to. thanks

this sounds like a pilonidal cyst.

A pilonidal cyst is an abscess or boil. It needs to be drained, or lanced, to improve. Like other boils, it does not improve with antibiotics. If any of the following symptoms occur, consult a doctor:

Pain at the bottom of the spine
Swelling at the bottom of the spine
Redness at the bottom of the spine
Pus draining from the cyst
Fever with any of the above symptoms

If this sounds right you're going to have to see your medical doctor.

relax man i been through it several of times it stays from 3 to 5 days then it kind of clears away one reason might be that you put too much pressure or too much weight. because one time i was doing weights and i did too much then the next day i couldnt sit or play sports i was scared it was a big problem but i waited and it went away just wait and it be fine

DONT WORRY I BEEN TROUGH IT IT WILL HEAL

I had something like this a few years back. How well do you keep the crack area clean? sometimes the amount of moisture will cause this kind of thing. If the cause of the problem is moisture keep the area dry by applying corn starch, but please first go to the doctor it will get worse if left untreated.
