Ok well I get really nervous about a lot of things. Little things usually. Like, at the moment i'm really nervous about running the mile for volleyball tomorrow morning in the time limit.
i don't usually get nervous about school things..but i get nervous about other little things like going to the movies with my friends, volleyball practice etc. I also get nervous about important things (as most ppl do, i'm sure).
the problem is that even if i try to not think about it, it still makes me nervous, and trying to distract myself doesn't help much either. Like..idk its a weird subconscious nervousness that doesn't go away even if i'm thinking about other things.
what can i do to help calm my nerves?

it's quite normal to feel nervous about things. As you get older you find that you get less nervous.
Drink chamomile tea throughout the day and evening to help you stay relaxed.
Take a calcium and magnesium tablet twice daily, this will help you feel more relaxed.
A hot bath in the evening can really help relax you and take away the stress of the day.

If it's just a mild sort of anxiety then you might try breathing deeply. Concentrate on your breathing while you do it to help focus your mind on that instead of what you're nervous about. Breath in through your nose as deeply as you can and concentrate on the air filling your lungs. You might want to count to ten or so either while you're inhaling or when your lungs are full. Then exhale slowly through your mouth. Do that a few times and it should help to calm you.
Of course if that doesn't work well enough you may simply have some mild anxiety disorder. You can talk to your doctor about it and they might prescribe an anti-anxiety pill for you to take in situations that make you nervous.
Good luck!

when i get nervous i try to remind myself that it will be okay, everybody gets nervous, try taking deep breaths or maybe look into something like yoga that helps people relax. from the sound of you letter i guess you are still in high school or maybe college, remember you will have new things to deal with. some people have anxiety disorders but this should be discussed with you doctor and be cautious of medications some of them a very addictive. remember it is okay to make mistakes nobody is perfect.

Anything relaxing, a nice hot bath, exercise, reading a good book, and talking about what makes you nervous with your friends and family. And a lot of sleep helps to.

try deep breathing. When stressed, force yourself to stop, take a long, slow and as deep as you can, breath - hold it in for a few seconds, then let it out very slowly and deliberately. Do it one more time, and you should be fine.

Try meditating. By meditating, I don't mean sitting with your legs crossed while chanting "ohm." I mean something that requires concentration, but no pressure -- like painting or sudoku.
