A fighter isn't necessarily a warrior, and a warrior is a fighter with that something extra that most fighters don't have. A warrior cannot be broken. He will fight to the bitter end ignoring pain even when the odds are against him.

To put it simply, a fighter fights to win and cares about nothing else. A Warrior fights for a cause he considers greater than himself. The warrior's cause can be his country, fellow men, a religious belief or an advocacy which he is willing to sacrifice his life for.

good question, one whose answer I believe reflects on how his/her society fights thier battles. Warriors are generally those individuals whose exploits are individual. I generally think of a knight in shining armor with a traveling minstral following behind shouting the knights deeds as loudly as possible. A fighter or soldier I see as one amongest his peers, so where as the warrior slays the dragon, the fighter/soldier's regiment company whatever saves the town as a whole. I hope that makes sense

It all depends on the context, but "warrior" is usually used as a general term encompassing soldiers, marines, mercenaries, seamen, pilots, and (in certain cases) able-bodied adult males to describe someone that is trained and obligated to fight on behalf of a military, paramilitary, or state (whether or not said warrior ever actually fights at all) whereas "fighter" implies occupational involvement in fighting and is less indicative of affiliation with an organization.

That depends on your point of view. My view of the two in life is this: a fighter is someone that chooses to fight when given the chance and they may not necessarily be fighting for the right cause (i.e. a boxer - not to pick on boxers or anything). A warrior is someone that fights or "wages war" based on a principle or a belief that they choose to uphold (i.e. someone such as William Wallace).

A fighter can be paid to fight, a warrior chooses his own battles.
