And the similarities between the Greek Zeus and the Hebrew Jehovah?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheus
Prometheus created man out of clay. Zeus punished him and man by denying man fire.
Prometheus stole fire from Olympus and took it to man, further angering Zeus, who punished man by giving him Pandora's Box -
"When Pandora opened the box, all suffering and despair was unleashed upon mankind. Zeus had had his revenge."
Lots of parallels between the stories, except that Prometheus [Lucifer] is the good guy.
Zeus is about what you'd expect if you gave him the Jehovah ID.

You, second anwerer, are correct. on the fire point. Thanks for the insight.
Lucifer is a Latin word meaning "light-bearer" (from lux, lucis, "light", and ferre, "to bear, bring"), a Roman astrological term for the "Morning Star", the planet Venus. The word Lucifer was the direct translation of the Septuagint Greek heosphoros, ("dawn-bearer"); (cf. Greek phosphoros, "light-bearer") and the Hebrew Helel, ("Bright one") used by Jerome in the Vulgate, having mythologically the same meaning as Prometheus who brought fire to humanity.

Lucifer also means illuminator of the soul. Beautiful. You will find these 2 at each others throats in most cultures bearing different names of course. The oldest known and original tale of these 2 gods can be found in ancient Sumerian writings and the Babylonian Enuma Elish. Enki and Enlil (Jehovah) were brothers. They are the 2 gods in the old testament. God seems to go through big personality changes in the bible and this is why. Enlil hated mankind and tormented them near to extinction. Enki, our creator, loved the humans and saved them from Enlil many times, the flood being one of them.
Great question.

If you read up on Zeus and all his offspring, you will lose any perceivable connection... when you've studied mythology for a long time the connections you make have no sense.
Greek (and other's cultures) Gods have many human attributes, while you have a great polarity/ division for major monotheistic religions.
on Prometheus/ satan connection... without the though of 'fire' I see no further connection, sorry... very different.
My thoughts.

The Egyptian "King of Judgment" Osiris fertilized Isis, who gave birth to Horus, the new born king, a regeneration of Osiris. Horus has an "evil twin" named Seth. Jesus, the new king has a similar counterpart, the anti-Christ.
Osiris is the "sky sperm" and Isis the "earth egg", the sky is masculine (Heavenly Father) and the earth and sea feminine (Mary - maritime, mare, Latin for sea).
At the Judgment, the deceased places his soul on a scale. If the soul ways more than a feather, it is weighed down by sin. It is thrown to the lions and crocodiles. If the soul is lighter than a feather, it is pure enough to pass on to the after world.
.Just some interesting parallels.

first of all, prometheus did not create man, chronos the father of zeus did.
and wasnt prometheus punished by strapping him to a rock and letting a raven eat his liver at the break of dawn every day untill hercules came to his rescue as one of his works?
what does pandorra have to do with this? pandorra is about hte origins of disease and strife.
if you compare this to the story of lucifer the archangel raising his throne to hte level of god's throne in heaven, and being cast out of heave nfor being prideful, i dont quite see teh connection.

Where do you think the early Christians got the idea? They took aspects of paganism so they could recruit more pagans to Christianity. Those who wouldn't convert they called Satan worshipers and witches then burned at the stake or worse!
