I'm sorry but what makes people think that if amnesty was granted to illegals today the ones in line to come here legaly will be left out . or behind I'm so sure those applying with all the paperwork and aplication on hand , will be the first ones to get the green card , or how did some of you think otherwise? I don't think a immigration reform will be a reward to outlaws for coming illegaly to this country , we have work so hard for a green card blood and tears we have left in the fields and sometimes our own lives . so we deserve it not a reward but a gratification , thanks.

As I understand it "Amnesty" for immigrants comes with a big price. It's not an amnesty per se; it's a conditional one, with lots of obligations and compromises. The person has to prove that he/she has been living in the US for a number of years, earning an income, paying taxes (if not income taxes, at least all the others), with a fixed address, bank accounts, etc., and demonstrate at least a basic conversational English ability.
And must be willing to compromise to stay for a given number of years, now paying income taxes and also fines for the years during which he/she didn't, plus a fixed monetary fine just for the privilege of starting the legal immigration process, being a former illegal.
OTOH I hope what you say about the ones who applied legally before the illegals will be the first ones is true, but I'm not sure about that, because amnesty as the term says, is a "pardon" to those who did something wrong (broke the law=illegal immigrants). Those who are legally in line didn't break any law, how can amnesty benefit them?
But then again, "amnesty" is a term only right-wingers are using. What congress is debating to approve is called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform etc etc". I haven't read the text yet, but I really hope it will give priority to those people in line who applied legally, and the illegals will be put in second place, as it should be.
Anyways, if you are one of those people who got your green card in a straightforward and honest manner, congratulations to you and keep up the good work!

Unfortunately for you that maybe Obamas down fall as ILLEGALS can't vote. Also, I know how the immigration system works and if you just show up for your meetings with INS and take the classes you are supposed to and can prove you don't need welfare to survive its pretty easy to gain citizen ship. If the blood and tears you're referring to are the ones where yiu sit in an air conditioned office answering questions for a government offical paid for by American tax dollars then poor poor you. If you don't like American immigration policy go the h*@# home.

The day is almost over... Amnesty will not happen today or anytime in the future. Just like the American people shut Bush up... We will do the same if Obama were to ever get elected (which I doubt very seriously)!!! American citizens get the last say in whether or not we want amnesty for 20 million illegal invaders!!! Dream on sucker!!!

What about all of those that did it the legal way PRIOR to this supposed grant of amnesty? They paid all of the fees, and they completed all of the forms, and jumped through all of the hoops, and got their papers legally. And yet, people such as yourself wish to slap their work in the face?
Let's face facts - coming into this nation without going through the INS is ILLEGAL. Until that is changed, any other argument you come up with to justify defending criminal behavior is moot.
addition:
So your idea of discrediting my answer is to call me immature? Who looks like the cry baby? You didn't answer my question. And who cares? I think the millions of LEGAL immigrants that enter this nation annually do. I happen to know some. Get over yourself. . .

The selfishness that you people have is unbelievable. You seem to think that you are the only ones who have left something behind or faced great adversity in their lives. At the same time you put a great price on something that you openly devalue, which is legal status in America. It is clear to me that the majority of illegals are NOT here for any reason other than to line their pockets with the blood sweat and tears of legal citizens who have toed the mark of legitimate civic responsibility.

i m sorry to inform you that Barack Obama is totally against giving Amnesty to illegal aliens
he even voted against the bill that was rejected few months ago
so don't have a wrong impression about obama, just because he is a minority doesnt mean that he will give amnesty to illegals however good news for u
much like bill clinton, u can expect hillary clinton do all the illegals a favor by offering them a chance to became a citizen in the USA
but it only depends if she gets elected and that is very likely
