i put some sugar and water in the micro wave for 20 minutes because it says to do thaty to make candy apples, but after a while i looked and i giant black thing bubbled out of the bowl it stunk burned my throat and my eyes. its huge black and crispy what is it !?!?!

ooooh that sucks.
and that is dangerous, too. if you would have been burned by that melted sugar, you would be in a world of hurt. melted sugar starts getting hard immediatly when it is off the heat. once it hits skin, it burns and it sticks. hurts terribly. i nailed the inside of my elbow with about a half cup of hot carmel trying to avoide a kitchen accident. i swooned with the pain.
next time, try doing the melting on the stovetop. you can keep better eye on it and cook it slower. this will help you get a better melt.

it's burnt sugar.
The 20 minutes was for stove-top, NOT microwave.
Stick to BUYING your candy apples.
