There is such a thing as between Churches. We just left our Church of 10 years, and we are currently going to different Churches to see which ones are teaching the Word.

I agree with supporting where you are fed. If it is a regular Christian radio ministry or possibly, splitting it amongst ministries that you have come to respect over the years. Your heart is right about the giving principle, and I am sure that He will help you make a wise choice. I would check into any food pantries or rescue missions. I actually went to one after my husband died to donate many of his clothes. I did ask the pastor there if he would mind showing me around. I was very comfortable with what I saw. They seemed like good stewards, and other than a curfew, there was no restrictions on who could stay there, as in no discrimination. I have given to my mother's church a few times when I have been "temporarily displaced."

Edit: Oy,vey! So now I am under a legalist, or what! Cast your bread upon the water, Bella.

Dear Quella Bella,

i would suggest tithing at any church that you are visiting while you make a decision on what church to consider your home church. When i attend Bible studies at my friend's churches or visit other churches- i try to tithe- to support the ministry going on there. Yes our tithe is used to build up the church- but in the big picture- it's used to help the church do God's work and God's work is occuring all over the world- from many many churches. i often tithe to support Christian radio programs that minister to me as well.

You can also set aside your tithe and give it once you settle on a home church. We give with a joyful heart and not out of obligation or habit- so even though it may be a period of time before you settle on a church- i think God knows that you purposed to sacrifice your finances to honor Him and to build His kingdom and that's really great!

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

The tithe belongs first and foremost to God, so even if you are between churches I would recommend that you give it to a Christian Charity like the Salvation Army. Since tithe was meant to help those less fortunate than ourselves, you could technically do any charity, just make sure its reputable.

The money belongs to God. Give it to the Lord. Maybe at a church you are visiting.

If you are not real happy with them you may put it in a savings until you find a church or ministry to give it to.

I my self have given to missionaries over seas to help spread the gospel of the kingdom.

If you're not in the true Church of God, you,r not giving your tithes to God, you,re giving them to man or satan.
You can't join God's church, you have to be called by the Father JOHN 3:13.

find a ministry that is not associated with a church to tithe to. World Vision, local ministries, etc.

If you participate in some civic group, volunteer or do charity work like I do, I try to get my tithe in there. Tithe is an act of Faith, not charity....because none of us can afford it.

Wherever your heart feels it is justified. Salvation Army, one of the children's funds, Goodwill. How about Red Cross, or the Cancer Society? Local soup kitchen, community cupboard.

You don't have to tithe even if you're in the church...free will and all, I don't have to give money.
