just started weight training.

If during the last set (of 3 sets) you accomplish the last rep without difficulty it is time to move up. There is no set time to move up. Move it up in 5lb increments.

Keep going with the same weight until you can do all your sets without a problem.

For example, if you're doing curls with 12 Kg and you've done 3 sets of 10 it means that 12 kilos is now too light for this exercise. You need to up the weight. A good rule of thumb is a 10% increase or the next greatest level.

just starting out, say, 20 lbs.....10 reps w/5sets and the 6th set increase by 5 lbs.....then go back to the original....do this for one week and increase by 10 # and repeat..... do your weight training every other day and also include cardio for 20 minutes ....and what ever you do rest one day a week that is a must.....no exercise of any kind.....

when you can hit all your sets and reps with proper form increase the load by 10%
