Seriously, enforcing the laws we have now would be a great start.Close the borders and enforce deportation. Then repeal NAFTA to bring back jobs to this country, good paying middle-class jobs we have lost.Repealing the anchor baby amendment is a must.We already let in millions of immigrants a year on visas so don't see much to fix there.Oh and stop letting the corporations run our country people, voice your opinion to your own congressional representatives. That's a great idea with prisoners i think that a lot of people have great ideas it just a shame none of them are in our congress. Also to mayor Bloombergs comments about immigrants and this country:they were legal immigrants who did these things not illegal ones.Didn't hear the word illegal out his mouth did ya.We should also deploy the national guard on our borders but actually let them do something besides stand around and watch. What we need are new people in congress cause the current bunch only represent foreign interests and big corporations not we the people.

Ok, this is assuming I could do whatever I wanted. I would have a mass media campaign telling all illegal aliens (regardless of where they are from) that they have 90 days to leave the country. They would also be told that when the 90 days are up, it would be a death penalty to be in the U.S. illegally. They would be given the choice, anchor babies could be left here for adoption, such children would retain their citizenship. Children born here but taken back to the parents country of origin would lose citizenship. After the 90 days are up, anyone caught employing illegals would be subject to life imprisonment, unless they could produce very convincing forged documents. All illegals caught here after the 90 days would be put to death.

You're right: Define "Jurisdiction." The 14th Amendment was clear till "Plyler v Doe" and the only reason is the court couldn't figure out what "Jurisdiction" really is. [More on that after these rantings]

Of course, I'd also build parallel tilt-wall's 'bout 20' high; put'em a few yards apart with large, fluffy dogs and other deterrents between. And maybe a Wal-Mart greeter ("Thank you for coming." "Good afternoon." "Si Senor, your pants are tore. That dog has you number and wants him some more." "Housewares? Isle 413,598.")

Outlaw that clickety European jibberish. The one from Europe's wannabe colonists, that pidgin tongue of the sunk Armada: Spanish.

Encourage, instead, a resurgence of tribal tongues. Give mandatory college credits and tax-breaks to those who learn one to the satisfaction of that respective tribal council. Incorporate, say 100 words or so a year from each of the 5 Peaceful Tribes.

What to do with those illegals born on U.S. soil (they're NOT citizens, see below) who have no country outside the U.S.?

I say give them a chance to earn it by developing and producing competitively-priced fuels from natural feed-stocks. Read up on the Dept of Energy's "Aquatic Species Program" where the DOE worked to make biodiesel from algae. And they almost had it. Algae gushes oil! And it grows fast in the desert!

So get'm set up, wall'm in, notify charitable org's of their various needs, supply scientists and other professionals to teach, organize, supervise, etc, and don't let them out till
(a) they're supplying us more oil (and cheaper) than any competitor,
(b) they renounce any loyalties to any nation other than the U.S.,
(c) they've gained an admirable command of the English language and
(d) accept that
--(1) they may reside in the U.S. but neither vote nor run for office for one generation,
--(2) only children born to them AFTER age 35 or after they've received a Master's degree and found professional employment may become full citizens - vote, run for office, etc, and
--(3) that all must serve in either the armed forces or in some service to the community that assists them in further assimilating and saves tax dollars.

[Rant complete]
************
Millions of illegals were granted birthright citizenship despite the 14th Amendment's clause, "...and UNDER ITS JURISDICTION" which does NOT EVEN apply to children born (on U.S. soil) to Ambassadors and Diplomats! Why to illegal aliens? Senators debating the clause specifically insisted it was to exclude aliens.

The Congressional Globe of the 39th Congress is clear: That senate would NOT ratify any law granting citizenship to children born accidently to aliens while on US soil. In its "Plyler v Doe" decision, the court upended that hard-fought amendment's intent.

Fix it!

My answer would be to secure the border ,no benifits to illegals,Americans send millions of dollars to Mexico to help the poor, and we have became so politiacally correct that they (Mexicans) wont even stand up to their own government.Americans are a sponge that pays for these ingrates,I would cut off all welfare, and support our border patrol. And I agree if they want to come to America illegally they should work for their government asist ance.My forefather had to fight for these freedoms, they (Mexicans) think are free,I dont believe they are special?Solution to illegals,GOVERNEMNT NEED TO GIVE A SHOOT TO KILL ORDER AT THE BORDER,BET THAT WOULD END THE DELIMA.

i think the best way to go about it would be screening
1. anyone with a criminal record should be deprted
2. drunk drivers
3.dead beet dads
4.people who after 2 years on welfare refuse to get a job
5. gang members no questions just deprt them we dont need them at all
by doing this you leave all the hard working people who deserve to be here and yuo fix this problem

I'd allow the Dept. of Immigration to use the military to round up illegals and escort them to the border, after completing photo records! Continued violations would become criminal offenses!

There's a right way to come into our country, if you want to be here so badly!

The problem with our immigration process is that only those overseas have to abide by it.
