Video Cams typically record in a standard format that can easily be converted into WMV (windows media player format).

If you get DivX pro, (19.95) you can drag and drop your video and convert to DivX format, and burn to either a VCD or DVD and play on one of the growing number of DivX certified players. I have a couple of DivX players and they play everything, including CDs full of photographs.

DivX is an impressive compression system

Also consider getting Roxio media creator.

I've put links to roxio and divx below.

DivX also runs Stage6 which has literally thousands of videos from others that are clever, and fun, you download them, burn to a CD or DVD and watch them, or just watch on yoru computer.

Go to the links and have fun.

Import the file into Windows Movie Maker. Drag the clip(s) into the timeline. Then save the file as a movie. When the save dialogue opens choose the option to save for playback on the computer.

This will create a .WMV file.

Do you already have the video captured to your computer? If so, then find the .avi files or .mov files and use a converting program like Super to convert it to .wmv.

If you haven't already captured the video, then use Movie Maker to capture the video to your computer. Then use the converter to change it to a .wmv file.
