heres the deal: i think that if i dont do the same thing every day, (as if not eating in a yellow bowl) Not having peanut butter. I think that God will punish me more severely (ie-breaking my leg) rather than making it rain. I know this is not true, but how can i fix this? DO i need counseling? Please help

Sounds to me like you have OCD(obsessive compulsive disorder). I have dealt with this for years and at times it drives me crazy. I sometimes feel like if I don't do certain things like set my cup down right then something bad will happen. I also have to count things over and over until I feel like I have "counted acceptably" or again, something bad will happen. Next time this happens try this..........a doctor once told me to imagine that the situation was a monster, instead of submitting to it, imagine yourself hugging it, (sounds crazy but it helped me alot) embrace it for a few seconds, then imagine letting it go. You may have to hug the same monster more then once before it goes away but it just might work for you to. Have a great day.

Dear Yankees,

It sounds like your behavior is obsessive-compulsive- but it seems to be a little bit more, because you are attaching some strange belief to your behavior.

Counseling would be a good idea as well as a lot of prayer! Would also suggest possilby attending a Bible study so that you can learn more and more about God- and realize that God is not looking to punish you, but to love you.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

No, you don't need couselling. A new dinner set will solve all your problems for much less expense. Tempt fait... you will see that your deepest concerns were all for nought. You have nothing whatever to fear from changing dinner sets. If however, you do break your leg... it will heal... then ask yourself.. What kind of God breaks my leg for eating out of a green bowl once in a while?

Oh, while you are at it.. peanut butter is fattening. try some vegemite!

Hum. Maybe you should look into counseling. Sounds like you may have some obssessive compulsive things going on with a little extra something that can't be very good for you. Fear is no way to live. You deserve - we all deserve - to live healthy, prosperous, productive lives free of fear. Fear is not of the Lord.

Talk to your doctor, you have OCD, I do too, it's nothing to be scared of. I have to keep things in the same place at all times, use one fork to eat certain foods, and other things. It is a lot better with medication and counseling but still not 100%.

Sounds like OCD, and I should know because I'm borderline. Get some counseling.

God will not punish you for things like that. You know God punishes sin i.e. lying, stealing, killing, etc. The devil does his major warfare against us in our minds. So when any bad or negative thoughts come to your mind cast them down in the name of Jesus.

Yes you need counseling. You're obsessive-compulsive and it will only get worse if you don't get help.
