Almost every night when I start settling down, I get this feeling in both of my legs as if I need to stretch and move around. Sometimes I get up and walk around my house, but that doesnt seem to do anything. I'm up until 2 AM almost every single night just flopping around on my bed trying to find a new position so I don't have the feeling in my legs, but no position seems to do anything.

It's so annoying and I'm so tired of being up all night. Sometimes it's so stressful not being able to sleep, that I just have to cry. My mom said only adults get this, but I'm only sixteen years old. Schools starting soon and I cannot go to school on only 3 hours of sleep.

Could this feeling in my legs be RLS?

Definitely yes! Get to the doctor for Requiem or Miropex. :) Don't listen to jaymes.

It could very well be RLS. It's not jut adults that get it... I've had the same problem off and on for many years and I'm only 22. If it's keeping you awake and causing so much stress, you need to see the doctor about it.

In the mean time, try something. Lie on your back with your feet in the air against the wall... in an "L" position for 5 mintues or so. Sometimes reducing the blood flow to your legs can help.

I hope you get this worked out! I know how terrible it can be!

It could be RLS, but you should probably consult a doctor for a real diagnosis. I'm 22 and have RLS, and although it mostly appears during your 'adult years' many teens from sixteen to eighteen start seeing the signs early on.

If you're in physical activity daily, such as dancing, basketball, running, volleyball...etc, then that could also trigger your restlessness. Please don't just take my thoughts on this, I advise you to consult with a physician before determining whether or not you have RLS.

I wish the best to you!

RLS is generally found in adults, but it is possible you could have it. How long has it been going on? It could be stress. Alot of times these sensations are caused by a deficiency of a type of mineral the body needs. Most often it is magnesium or potassium. It is always best to add minerals/vitamins to your diet by eating healthy foods but you can buy these at any health/herb shop or pharmacy. Whole grains, legumes, and veggies (especially the leafy greens) are all excellent sources of these minerals.

No. RLS is a made up "disability" in order to sell medication.

Teenagers often suffer from insomniac problems. Go and talk to a REAL DOCTOR and see if he can prescribe you any sleep medication.
