The warranty covers the drive train for the original owner, with no mileage or time limits. You do have to follow the manufacturers recommendations for maintenance or the warranty is void.
It is not transferable, meaning that if the title to the car is transferred, the warranty ends!

The warranty is limited to the original owner and 3yr/36k miles whichever comes first. Even though the car has less than 36k miles on it the warranty expired 21 years ago. Hope I have been helpful. Also cash for clunkers was for vehicles that have been in your name and insured for the last year. Any car that gets more than 20 mpg from the factory was not eligible either so you are too late to take advantage of anyone this time. LOL

Yes its true, BUT with very strict maintenance requirements. Dodge is doing very poorly in sales and are loosing money, so they are trying to get as much business as possible to hopefully save the company. But yes they do offer the lifetime powertrain warranty but if you read all the fine print, you have to maintain a VERY strict maintenanace record. They also don't offer it on all of their vehicles either such as the diesel trucks or any of the SRT models.

It is true,
right now dodges have a lifetime POWERTRAIN warranty..... (does not include diesels)
powertrain covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. The warranty is only available to the customer buying the vehicle new.

i'm pretty sure you only get that warranty if you buy the car outright, and it's only on the powertrain..... I'm sure there are lots of restrictions, though.
