First check with the adoption agency and see if your case allows for a release of parental info--if it does you're on your way. If it doesn't well you have to be more creative. Do you have a copy of your birth certificate? If you don't you should be able to get one with from the county of birth with your birth name and dob. You can then go to websites such as ancestry.com for further research. Do you happen to live in Dallas County, Arkansas? If you do the county has a website to help with family trees and such. Lastly, ask your parents what they know....they may know more than you think.

Try calling the Birthright office in Arkansas (1-888-219-8825)--this is a service that provides help for women and girls with unwanted pregnancies and don't know what to do. They offer counseling , etc. and also provide a service where the mother can leave her name, father's name, date of birth of the child she gave up, etc. in case the child wants to find her someday. Or you might call the Division of Vital Records (1-501-661-2174) in Little Rock to see if your birth certificate is on record. It might cost you to get a copy of it. Good Luck. :)

I was adopted also so I understand wanting to find your birth mother.
Do you have a name to work with if hers or someone elses in the family? if so, so to your local library and talk to someone in the geneology department. Look through olf newspapers that should be on microfilm, etc. Thats what I did in my case and found my birth mother in less than 6 months.
Good Luck!

These may help, especially if you are both looking for each other.
