That, "Whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven."
Does this mean that whenever a Pope commissioned a crusade, all the people in Christian Heaven went and invaded Muslim Heaven?

Peter. as noted. was not the only one given power to bind things below as above; and he got rid of the keys at the house of Cornelius, ergo no Pope. There are three heavens and what is bound or loosed is only bound or loosed in one.
This is not a matter of reflecting chess games painted on a canvass of Greek and Roman mythology. I can see this is not going to be a good night for logic above or below.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times.
The Pope is only infallible when he, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true. This is called "ex cathedra", literally meaning in Latin "from the chair".
This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).
At all other times the Pope can be just as wrong or sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 891: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p4.htm#891 and http://www.catholic.com/library/Papal_Infallibility.asp
With love in Christ.

If "It's a joke :p. I didn't read the chapter, I read the quote in a book and thought of this," then WHY are you bothering US with it? If you are not seriously "curious" about an answer, or curious enough to at least read the Bible verses AROUND that quotation, don't waste our time or your 5 points, okay?
And people wonder why we Christians quote the Bible so often!!!
