Cervical cancer is a disease in which the cells of the cervix become abnormal and start to grow uncontrollably, forming tumors.

Cervical Cancer Stage IIIB means the Cancer has spread to the pelvic wall and/or is blocking the flow of urine through the ureters to the bladder.

It is not correct to say it has spread to her lungs, because cervical cancer stage IIIB will not spread to Lungs. It may be due to some other complication or the disease must be stage IVB, which is rather terminal. . Please consult your doctor and he will be able to inform you further clearly.

My wife is a patient of stage IIIB of Ca of Cervix and I have been treating her with Chemotherapy, and Radiation therapy for the past 3 years. Surgery was not possible because the tumor was more or less attached to Urinary Bladder and the doctors have abandoned surgery after opening up the abdomen saying it is not safe to carry on the surgery. But now she is able to carry on her daily routine works and now doctors say the disease is cured. But still she is having some difficulty /side effects due to the treatments given.

So I suggest you to consult your Oncologist and he will be able to advise you further. If you want any other information from me please mail me the full details of the patient and treatments given and I will be able to tell something. In any case you should not stop the treatment and you have to carry on with it s there are many cases got fully cured. Best of luck-

I had Stage 4 lung cancer, The doctors said I should have died long time ago. Never give up hope, but you do need to look into the right treatment for your mom. I have met many patients in the hospital when receiving treatment, they were in similar of even worse conditions than your mom, but survived for long time. I believe combining Western treatment and Chinese treatment is the solution in treating cancers.

Please visit my blog which documents my experience in diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
