First off let me just clear something up, People didn't invent heaven God did as well as hell...paving the streets with gold is a metaphor..gold is rich, everlasting. stocking hell with fire another metaphor..fire is bad if there is too much of it, it could hurt you.

Hmmm. I see. You want to be scandalous and rile people by saying that heaven and hell was invented, imaginary, and that you're so much wiser than that, right?

How cute. Well, if people made up the gold streets and fiery hell, just make up some good reasons yourself why they did. It's all imaginary, right? :)

2000 years ago, cities for fortunate to have roads paved with stone. The image of streets paved with gold at that time would be almost unimaginable, since the commoner or slave rarely even touched the precious metal.

Jesus compared Hell to Gehenna, Jerusalem's city dump. People would carry their trash to Gehenna and burn it. Jesus painted a picture of the most horrible place one could imagine spending eternity. He also refers to the lake of fire, of course.

anyone has their very own theory of what heaven/ hell sounds like. ...regardless of in case you pick to have confidence it, is your selection. Streets paved with gold, and hearth in hell is a properly-enjoyed visionary of what heaven and hell appear as if (which maximum folk have confidence).

God is so rich, he can afford the nice little extras to keep it fun. He likes a cheerful color on the ground.

Hell is full of angels and people who need to suffer for their rebellion. Fire is more painful than water.

Because gold was valued because it does not tarnish and can be molded to almost any shape. Fire is one of the most painful ways of dying.

You must have pure opposites for a 1 choice in a religion, either a Monotheist or Hell... they keep saying... how dull... :-)

So in religions which profess belief in 1 god - you either have good or bad to highest degree not to say it doesn't fit the picture by logic.... for me at least

Each description is just an anthropomorphic expression for what would truly be realized in each place. Hell is where Jesus is not. Heaven is where Jesus is.
