We think God is right....which makes religion and all other speculative ideas WRONG. Its NICE to know a thing is certain and not have to GUESS.
Its not sickening to us....its a great comfort to know what God is doing and to cooperate with Him in it.
You should try it.

It's not just Christians but any zealot religion. But I will admit that the Christians do seem to be high up there in audacity. However, I've never been exposed to anyone except Christians or atheists so there you go.
I think it's just the nature of man to insist that he's better than everyone else. Think of it like people who always brag about the great deal they got for their car or some big rebate they got that you didn't, etc... Also those people who insist that they are better than everyone else are generally the most self conscious that they're really not and are simply trying to bolster their own belief system. And to my mind it's the people who don't espouse anything about their personal beliefs are the ones who are really onto something. They don't have to preach, demand, or convert. They know that their personal spiritual beliefs are deeply personal and unless someone else feels that within all the I'm rights and you're wrongs in the world won't do a bit of good. Just like democracy will NOT work in every country one religion is not going to serve everyone in the same manner. So whatever you believe or don't believe, cool dude, rock on...

that question does not make experience sorry, for a pair of aspects: a million. permit me turn the question around, ' what keeps a non secular person coming into into life with the reality that they are perfect and anybody else is incorrect'? 2. Atheism isn't a disbelief in a God, that's in many situations a loss of a concept. basically such as you have a loss of a concept interior the Yeti? yet you at the instant are unable to finally end up it the two technique, so as which you lack a concept the two technique. 3. An atheist could desire to argue - they furnish on considering the fact that they love life, their kin, the long-term shoppers, their friends and a superb type of others and a superb type of others. 4. An atheist does not continuously think they are perfect and anybody else is incorrect. they could have an opinion that differs from distinctive human beings, in spite of the shown fact that its basically an opinion.

It's only sickening if it threatens you.
I'm not a Christian. They can feel that way all they like. Doesn't bother me in the least. Neither do the thousands of others of other faiths, or atheists, or anyone else.
Your lack of experience with other groups is not a compliment to you. Your unawareness of other groups doing this, some of them far in excess to Christianity, is a clear indication of very limited experience in the world.
Travel. Look around some more.
Don't let the attitude get to you. If you examine your own beliefs, finally feel secure in them, it won't sicken you any more, because they won't challenge your own self-image.

Not all of us are Bible-thumping hatemongers. We are officially (in the Biblical sense) called by God to teach the gospel to those who are interested, not to force-feed it to them. We are also called to serve his beloved creations with a tenderness and reverance so sublime that it is called "The Holy Spirit". Few really practice it. I'm sure you can already tell.
However, I will say that there are some beliefs that I consider flat-out wrong. For example, the belief that if one would only kill some children with a suicide ice cream truck while gleefully chanting "Allah Akbar" than he will get 72 whores wearing thick Mascara® in Allah's Penthouse® is simply wrong. Anyone who begs to differ will either be promptly ignored or apprehended by a SWAT team asap. I'm not ok with this primarily because I think children should not be blown up while eating their favorite ice cream flavor. I care for children and don't want to see them horribly mangled and/or mutilated for any reason whatsoever. That's about it.

They think so because they have a monistic religion, meaning they believe there is only one way, their way, and the only way to sustain this is to reject all else as wrong. Why do they do this? Because their faith is based on a fear of not existing after death, and if there is some religion, or atheism, which comes along and challenges their way of thinking, it threatens their stance that they have found the way out of not existing after death. They are so afraid of not existing that they would prefer the idea of eternal torture in hell to the notion of not existing.
A person who comes along and tells them they are wrong must be shunned as being totally wrong, bc if they are right, it lets in the possibility that they might cease to exist after they die, and that is something that they can't accept.

I wish people wouldn't lump everyone into the same group. I'm a Christian, and I KNOW I'm not right all the time. I will only give you what *I* personally believe, though I have been known to forget to tell people that it's merely my opinion. I guess I just assume they know, but around here I suppose I can't blame them for thinking otherwise.
love and light to you and yours

that's only some christians, conservative ones usually. as for their beliefs, everyone thinks there's is right, otherwise you wouldn't be believing it. the problem is they blast others for not having those beliefs, which, i admit, is not a very christian thing to do. forcing someone into believing by telling them that otherwise they will "go to hell" is not why people should be believing, and not a good way to present your religion.

Hmmm. I don't.
I do think that the Bible is the word of God. The only revelation of God to a sinful world.
The only hope for the soul of the lost is the savior.
I'm studying and learning the rest as I go. Amazingly, there is good life giving principle in the Bible. Of course, you have to want it to find it.
If you seek death, you will find it instead.

Anyone can fall under the delusion of 'always being right' including an atheist I figure, so, to answer this from such perspective - yes it can be... extremely sickening...
I am not referring to Religion and your beliefs or lack of only, but to any choices one makes... so I don't understand the thumbs down really...
