I make about $18k a year.. I am single and am not claimed by anyone else as a dependent. I want to just about break even, or else get a small refund or owe less than $300. I don't want a large refund. Thanks

You can claim one and you'll be close to breaking even, will probably get a small refund if you only have one job at a time. If you claim zero, you'll get a slightly bigger refund, but you said that wasn't what you wanted.

Claim Zero. The more you claim the less taxes they take out of your check and the more likely you will be to owe the IRS.

Claim 0 dependents. Single unmarried workers pay a lot of taxes. It's best if you wait until you file your taxes to claim yourself.
