It is a foreign, no brand name, tv that says " HDTV monitor" in the left corner. The outputs I can choose from are S video, YCbCr, HDTV, DVI, or TV.

In the manual the YCBCR resolution is 480P, 576P, 720P,and 1080i. The manual doesnt say anything about HDtv or its resolution. It does say that the resolution is 1280X768.

If there's no section in the manual covering HD or ATSC reception, then it's a pretty safe bet that there's no HD tuner. The fact that they're calling it a "monitor" is usually sufficient to tell that it is not equipped with an HD tuner.

Another answerer is suggesting that having an RF input is sufficient to indicate that it has an HD tuner. Unfortunately, that simply isn't true. I have personally seen dozens of TVs with RF inputs that DON'T have an HD tuner. Just an analog tuner.

He is also incorrect in implying that DVI and component are the only two HD inputs. That, too, is false. HDMI is not only a third type of high definition transport medium... it is the best.

If it has a TV tuner, there will be an RF Input in the back where you can connect a Coax cable from antenna or cable.
If there is no such input, then it is HD Ready.
If you have a set-top box, just connect it to the TV using DVI or Component or S-Video.
Only DVI and component support HD inputs
