Temporarily. All it does is clean out the colon. It doesn't amke the food you eat leave the body. Food gets digested and the vitamins and minerals absorbed. You have to learn to eat the right foods that you won't have to worry about portions so much. Educate yourself about food and what is good for YOUR body type.

Don't bother with laxatives..it's just water weight and you'll put it back on after your first glass of water. It will leave you dehydrated and it's not something you can do for the rest of your life. Try this.1200 calories a day (no Less!). You don't need any special foods eat what you like just up to 1200 calories a day. Now, walk , jog, bike, swim whatever you want for 30-40 minutes a day 6-7 days a week. There is no magic weightloss formula. If there was we wouldn't be having this conversation right? Just hard work and a little discipline so be a little patient ok?. You'll lose about 3 pounds a week if your faithful to this eating plan an your weight won't be an issue anymore. Good luck

No way!....Laxatives are for worse case problems..what laxatives does is relax your muscles to release...if you over use them...you muscles will not go back to normal and they will be permantly relaxes..give you...yup...a loose butt..all day long and you won't be able to hold it it.

Eating less doesn't work either..You have to eat smart and healthy and eat 5 to 6 small healthy meals everyday..

Okay...I only started two Mondays ago and All I do is walk one hour every morning. I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost one pant size and 9 pounds. I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids. This is what I do below when I throw on a few extra pounds. It always works..No diet pills, no energy drinks..just me walking and getting the water I need. Of course I watch what I eat and the Lean Cuisine meals are great for that since the calories per box are 180 to 380 per box. Just make sure you eat healthy every three to four hours so your body will perform at its max.

Here it is:

Helpful Tips for weight loss:

1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch

Keep to a 1,200 food intake

Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.

I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body's principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day.

I thought I was eating healthy but kept putting on weight a little at a time. I tried diets but put the weight back on when I quit. Then in June I read "The weight loss cure" and I have changes what I eat. I eat healthy, look great, and have more energy. I went from 165 in June to 140 today. I am not dieting. Just eating better.

Yes, but it is a very unhealthy way of loosing weight. Instead you should consider a healthier diet and the gym. Eating healthier food with less fat and doing cardio are healthy ways of loosing weight.

don't do it. I used to do that and now have a heart condition and used to pass out on the floor. It does NOT work either!

Most important thing you can do is this:

1-eat every 2-3 hours (1-200 cal)--6 meals a day--this speeds up your metabolism and keeps it moving. If you don't do this, your metabolism shuts down and stores fat.

2-eat only protein and vegetables.......get your fiber from nuts. Do NOT have any fruit-it will take you out of ketosis (highest state of fat burning).....Have NO bread, pasta, carbs.......again, your only carbs should be from nuts and veggies.

3--limit your dairy. Only cottage cheese and goats milk.

4--drink a minimum of 8 8 oz. glasses of water a day

5--limit caffeine--caffeine destabilized your blood sugars and causes you to eat.

6-- get to sleep no later than 10pm....your body rebuild itself between the hours of 10pm-6am........sleeping 11-7 isn't the same.

7--don't eat after a certain time of day.......if you are hundry, have herbal tea or something light-1oo calories max.

8--cook in olive oil and make sure you don't over do on fats.

9--move your body-walk, exercise......do a minimum of 30 min. every day.

10--stay away from stress......stress releases a chemical that makes your body store fat.

My doctor taught me all of these things and I've lost 30 pounds in 2 months.

Good luck.

Yes, it will. But you'd better check with a doctor before you try this experiment. Eating less is OK, but both eating less and taking too much laxatives may not be good.

yes u can, but this is so dangerous..I would not try it....my friend used to do this and lost so much weight but ended up in the emergency room one night becasue she had took laxatives and not had nothing to eat.....so my advice is just eat less and exercise but throw the laxatives away.

Do not even think of taking laxatives. If you want to lose weight, eat lots of fruit, veggies, and whole grains, exercise, and drink lots of water. Talk to your doctor about losing weight before you go on any diet.

Bulimia--using laxatives to purge--can really screw up your body. Please don't do it.

You need to find a personal trainer in your area who can set you on the right track as far as health and fitness goes.

It would be the best $100 you ever spent on yourself.
