look people you are all a bit strange there is no EVIDENCE for big bang as there is no EVIDENCE for evolution theory...come on!
big bang is a universe model based on what can be seen from the universe, it is a theory of how could everything have happened but it is not EVIDENCE..it is just based on what we observe we hypothise that it all started that way...it is absurd to debate in here

I believe that the big bang probably happened. However I do not need to vow my life to the worship of the big bang and I do not threaten others with Hell if they don't believe in the big bang. That's the difference.
Evidence for the big bang- analysis of the spectrum of light from galaxies, which reveal a shift towards longer wavelengths proportional to each galaxy's distance in a relationship described by Hubble's law. Combined with the assumption that observers located anywhere in the universe would make similar observations (the Copernican principle), this suggests that space itself is expanding. Extrapolation of this expansion back in time yields a state in the distant past in which the universe was in a state of immense density and temperature. This hot, dense state is the key premise of the Big Bang. Observations now place the age of the universe at around 13.7 billion years.
Friedmann models show that a Big Bang is consistent with general relativity and with the cosmological principle, which states that the properties of the universe should be independent of position or orientation.

Evidence of God- the Bible says it is so.

I'm a believer in the big bang theory, I don't believe in god but I believe in a higher plain of existence. Atheists don't necessarily hate god or disbelieve, they just choose no to let religion rule their lives, and live their lives by their own regard, not from a book. I think science based religions have a strong belief in the beginning of the universe - The Big Bang Theory is the dominant scientific theory about the origin of the universe. According to the big bang, the universe was created sometime between 10 billion and 20 billion years ago from a cosmic explosion that scattered space matter in all directions. In 1927, a Belgian priest was the first to propose that the universe began with the explosion of an atom. Years later, this other guy, Edwin Hubble found experimental evidence to help justify the priests theory. So initially, it was a priest who discovered all this! The big bang was initially suggested because it explains why distant galaxies are traveling away from us at great speeds. Although the Big Bang Theory is widely accepted, it probably will never be proved; consequentially, leaving a number of tough, unanswered questions. Does anyone have another proven theory of how the universe started? If not, that's what I'm sticking with. Hope this was of some help.

NO EVIDENCE FOR EVOLUTION???

what isnt evidence for evolution?

homo sapiens. for example, before us what was there. oh wait, if evolution doesnt exist then homo sapiens have been around since the beginning of time. but evolution does exist and before homo sapiens, was homo erectus.

anyway. if god existed and he could do all the cool stuff that al sharpton tells me he could do, then he would leave proof of crap that he has done.

and another thing. that is exactly it...theory...THEORY. the big bang is just a theory. and that is all it is. if it was a widely known fact (like evolution) it would be called a theory. its not called the god theory. because theres no evidence of a being that doesnt exist.

people who believe in god she be ludites because they are so far behind everyone else that they should not be allowed to use technology.

have you ever read the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy?

there is a race of people in that book that believe that the universe was sneezed out of god's nose. and the time that we call the rapture the called the coming of the great white hankerchief. i mention this because i think it is a great image of how absurd religion can be.

people cant come back from the dead. the earth cant be created in 7 days. nothing can happen in 7 days.

and one last thing...in your question the first part "if atheists need an evidence for god to believe in it," yea, maybe i was mislead but the whole point of being an athiest is that you dont believe in god.

god to me is like the jabberwocky. just as believable. wow. i just think that asking this question is rediculous and that is why i answered so vehemently but i strongly disagree with religion.

As smellslike pot said, there is evidence. The three degree background cosmic radiation. Not only was it discovered, its discovery was predicted on the basis of the Big Bang. I can sympathize with your position. In many ways the Big Bang doesn't seem any more plausible than God, except for the fact that it does not depend on supernatural influences. The notion of God suffers the logical disadvantage of being based on superstition. It fails Occam's razor. The more parsimonious explanation is preferred, especially if there is *some* evidence for it and *none* for the competing explanation.

InvisibleSkyPixie madness is much more INcredible and UNlievable than any BigBang thingy.

I'd rather believe in something that's possible; no matter how impossible BigBang MAY be the PixiePossibility is just way too impossible for my brain to conceive.
Maybe I should lose half my brain, eh? LOL

"and i am not religious believer but i think many atheists in here share the same defects most religious people have."
Yeah, mate; sure. Whatever you reckon's a fair thing.
You're USian, aren't you?
That was rhetorical.

They DO need more detailed evidence for that, but they DO have enough for having Big Bang a reality. However - it is more likely to find proof of the Big Bang than it is to find evidence of a God.

By the way - there are several creation theories out now - you might want to investigate, unless you´re afraid it makes you an Atheist.

It's more sensible to believe in what thousands of incredibly intelligent scientists have said as opposed to what the average Joe and some lascivious priest have said.

But of course that is not the basis of atheism.

Of course human beings cannot yet explain everything that exists in this world and the next. We are not there yet.

I say not yet, because we will. Did the Neanderthal believe that one day their successors would land on the moon? Did the Neaderthal, one hand holding a spear, believe that one day their successors would be able to kill thousands of people in less than a second?

Between belief and knowledge, I choose knowledge.

That is the basis of atheism.

You are demonstrating a woeful ignorance of the scientific method. Take a look at this:

Pay careful attention to what scientists mean when they use the words "theory," "evidence," and "hypothesis." Then go read some books on astrophysics, or evolutionary biology - ones written by scientists. This should help.

What? There is evidence on the big bang theory. Do you read with your eyes shut or something?

In your ignorance, you incorrectly assume that "the big bang" is the cornerstone of atheism, but it isn't..!

It's a very big jump to consider the big bang, which DOES have evidence pointing in this direction, to only one god within one particular doctrine, with allegedly selective considerations for only one species, and the only considers those who adhere correctly to this doctrine, and which offers very simplistic, contradictory and flawed descriptions of the natural world..

Hardly a comparable situation isn't it..?
Clearly, this is a very poorly thought out point that you have attempted to make..
