After the second interview, what happens after that, and what is the time frame?

Typically, the 2nd inteview will come about 1-2 weeks after the first one. If you're going to get an offer, it will usually be 1 week after the 2nd one.

Accounting, engineering, wait staff, it doesn't matter the discipline.

If a company is going to conduct second interviews, the single most important factor in your getting a call back is how your first interviewer feels about you the moment the interview is over.

Actual hiring decisions are usually made in minutes, no matter how long and drawn out the interview / bureaucratic process may be from the outside.

If you make it past the 2nd interview, you're probably going to get a job offer. Time frame? Totally depends on the company.
