That is what I don't understand. In Catholicism, confirmation and communion are sacraments. Yet, Protestant churches have only two sacraments: baptism and communion. But I know Methodists, Lutherans, and Episcopelians have confimation ceremonies which they call "rites". Also, they baptize babies like Catholics do. It seems they only obey parts that they like and ignore everthing else that bothers them. It seems they don't really want to be apart from us.

Being raised a Lutheran, we always had Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion (for those Confirmed), The Lord's Prayer, The Apostle's Creed, The Niacene (sp?) Creed, the Gospel and other readings, etc. We believed in Mary only as the blessed woman chosen by God to bear His Son.
Confession was done before Communion--a general prayer together for the forgiveness of our sins--to God, lead by the pastor--they did it that way in the Catholic church we went to on Easter, as well (I guess because so many parishioners only attend mass on Holy Days).

I am not aware of any that use these. Methodist are similar but none pray to Mary or use the confessional.
Communion IS biblical, all use this!
Confirmation?? I am not aware of any protestants that do. Which ones are they?
Oh yes forgot about Lutherans...they are similar to catholics but more biblical.

All Protestant churches came from Catholicism. Each one took the parts they liked best (including books of the Bible) and left out the parts they didn't like, or changed their interpretation of the ones they didn't like (like the Eucharist).

Because some of them broke away from the Catholic Church, like the Lutherans and the Episcopalians.

if religion were an octopus. Catholicism would be the head and the christian sects it's arms.. they never stray to far from each other... not because of "god" but because the devil likes it that way... then again their book does say that Satan will call himself god of this earth, and Satan is the only one calling himself god... ok so god likes it that way.... but we don't have to do his religions do we!!!
