Christianity isn't about works or trying to earn salvation. Christ found you, called you, and you did nothing to derserve that. Once you are His, you are always His. Some people miss this concept, and try desparately to have the appearance of a good religious teacher, hoping in the end that these works will win them a place in heaven. These people never knew God. Think pharisees. Pray for your dad. From the sound of this he doesn't seem to be in Christ. If you are in Christ, you do not have a demon. Demon's cannot possess you and make you do anything. They are essentially powerless over you. There is a definite spiritual battle out there and you need to be on guard but they cannot bring a "spirit of deception" on you. They can tempt you and they can certaintly decieve, but they cannot make you do anything. If you pray to God for wisdom He is faithful to give it. Seek God in all you do and He WILL be found by you. Chris is the only one who can fullfill you. When you look for your sole satisfaction in Christ than you will be fullfilled. Your parents are flawed human beings. They can never truely give you what you need. Pray to Christ to provide what it is that you are looking for in your parents, and He will through Himself.
Another point I wanted to touch on quickly is that Christ will return "like a theif in the night" no one can predict His coming. To try would be false prophecy, that was excellent disernment on your part.
My advise is to pray for your dad and to love him despite his shortcomings. Hopefully through your loving spirit and faithfulness to pray, he will find Christ. He seems overly defensive so be careful when bringing points up. He needs to hear them but maybe not from his daughter, especially if he is not actually in Christ. :-/
I willl pray for you.

If you trust in Christ Jesus there is a 100% chance that you will be saved.
Some people, like your dad, say things because they are basically passing on teachings that were never understood by the people that handed it down to them. Your dad may be saved. However, there is a possibility that he is not as knowledgeable about the scriptures as he thinks he is.
There is also a possibility that he has never trusted in Christ. Works (things people do) do show more about a person's relationship with God than anything else. Obedience is the greatest sign that a person is saved (not speaking in tongues or other outward manifestations as Pentecostals may believe). I'll let God judge the matter of your dad's salvation. Your responsibility in this matter is to love as Christ loved (respectfully and responsibly).
The statement about the 7 demons is a scripture about a person who was once demon possessed. If you were never demon possessed, don't worry about 7 more new demons coming your way.
Please feel free to look up the topic about the 7 demons on the resource listed below.

Shiftymad; your dad is showing his true colours isn't he?
They are nothing like the bright white of our Christ. They are murky tertiaries on a broken palette. Do not paint your faith from the brushes of this man. Dad or not, don't allow him to steal away from you the salvation of our Lord!! Please do not fall into the same trap all the other 99 men and women do.
One man reads the bible and the other 99 read the man!
What he has done is not indicative of Christianity. It is his own heart and don't think for a moment the Christ cannot see this. Don't think that God will accept his supplications under these circumstances, because I don't believe God will hear him.
Your dad introcuced you to our Lord and you have knowledge of God, the wrongs of a ' so called Christian ' should not deter you from living your life as a true Christian.
So go home to your mom. But take the Christ with you and live by His standards all the rest of your life!!
I have seen and heard of many men and women like this, they do not take away my faith in God, I will not allow it. You too should not allow the inadequate actions of others to take your faith away.
Remember ...we go to God not the messenger.
Your dad is not a prophet. You have not betrayed him, on the contrary I think that you have stood by the word of God. Otherwise why are you asking about your dads misdeeds? I don't think that you want to give up on your faith. So don't.
Pray for your dad, and pray for yourself. Live the life the man introduced you to. You have the Christ now and God will take care of all the rest.
Do not do as others do but what the Christ wants you to do.
And that is to love. You can't do that properly without the teachings of God.
Don't listen to the naysayers, listen to the Holy Spirit, He will guide you here, and all your life.
All the best to you darlin.

Hi -
First of all only God knows if your Dad is saved or not. Along with salvation comes our responsibility to put Christ's commands into action. The Bible says that faith without works is useless.
Regarding your salvation - have you received Jesus as Lord and Savior, do you follow Him?
In the book of James we are told to be "doers of the Word and not merely hearers".
I would encourage you to read and study the Bible for yourself. Weigh everything that any preacher including your Dad says against the Word of God. Unfortunately there are false prophets aplenty. So we are to be ware.
Pray for wisdom and guidance.
It is good to follow the example of the Bereans in the book of Acts:
"The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica
for they received the word with great eagerness
examining the scriptures daily
to see whether these things were so." Acts 17"10-11
If you have other questions or want to chat, feel free to email me.
take care - Redeemed

Where the holly spirt resides a demon cant, they can influence you/temp you but not possess you!
As to your salvation did you repent (turn from), confess and ask forgiveness your sins do you believe that Christ died for your sins? Were you born again? were you given a new heart do you hate what you onced loved and loved what you hated?
Are you in a relationship with God reading your Bible everyday? Do you hate it when you sin and feel sick over it?
Have you died to your self and pray everday that you will die to self so christ may live more fully through you?
Only you and God know if your truely saved?

Hi,
A person is saved when, being drawn to God by the Holy Spirit, they repent of who and what they are apart from God, i.e. a sinner who has sinned against God, and have trusted What Christ did on the Cross to atone before God for their sins.
That is the short answer. The longer one is simply this...if everything you say about your dad is true...he doesn't show the fruits of a true Christian. You can't help that. Finally that is between him and God. But you asked if "you" are saved. That depends. Has there been a time in your life when you knew yourself to be a sinner before a holy God? In that condition were you led to see that Christ came to die on the cross so that all of God's wrath against sin could be satisfied? And believing that did you trust Christ alone to save you?... and having done that, did you receive from God the assurance that your sins were forgiven in Christ and that you had truly become a child of God? Again...finally that is between you and God...but Christ bids you to come to Him in repentance...that is turning from yourself and everything else you are depending to take you to heaven, and trust Him alone as your Lord and Savior. I will be praying for you.

There is no one of The True Christian Faith who can answer the questions you post... Only God knows The Truth of your Fathers Salvation... and Only God can say to you that you are "saved".... I am very close to the same situation with my own daughter... except I am not a Pastor... I know there is a lot you have not stated... I would not make any satement conceling of any kind based upon just what you have posted.
If you are seeking to have a relationship with God and have questions concerning The True Christian Faith... feel free to email me... one honest question will receive one honest answer to the best of my ability... I will never tell you that you are "saved"... only God may do that... but I offer what help I can to help you to establish your own relationship with God.... so that you can come to Him in The Way He prescribes and receive His free gift of Salvation... when you do that... You will know... and you will not have to ask any one if you are saved...You will KNOW

These are not the words or the actions of a Christian man.
If you accepted Jesus as your savior and believe that He died for your sins, was buried and resurrected, then you are saved. Find a good Bible believing church and a good pastor and let this pastor teach you about Jesus. It would help for you to tell your new pastor the story about your dad.
You need to pray for your dad and ask God to guide you in dealing with him. But first, get you a good relationship with Jesus so that you can help your dad. The Lord knows how to handle your dad, but you must pray for him.

Christians like anyone else are known for their deeds if the works are not of the fruit spoken of by our lord and savior Jesus Christ than that individual isn't a true christian, follower of Christ, all one has to do is take the time to read scripture and it will witness to the real Christians.

So your dad is human with weaknessess just the same as the rest of us. Whether or not he or you are saved is really only known by God. Tithe money should go tothe minister for his gas, how else is he supposed to live. A lot of ministers get into prophesying today just because they are deceived and listen to experiences of people rather than trust the Bible. Anyway he sounds like a normal human being who needs his kids support just as much as you need him.
