I mean, even if he was the son of God and everything, isn't this religion and church thing a little bit of overkill?

When I visited the Louvre, it seemed like at least 1/4 of the painting were either the crucifixion or baby Jesus. Jeez, talk about unoriginal ideas.

I am sorry I have no answer but I do have a question If god is so loving then why is there a hell at all? If he is so powerful why can't he just get rid of hell? Why would a loving god laugh at someone else misfortune? If god was born as his son who was the father? and who was in charge of heaven while he was gone for about 30 years? Then who was Jesus supposed to be taking to while on the cross as the story goes I thought he asked god for forgiveness for the people killing him or something like that not to mention many other references of Jesus talking to god, don't tell me he was talking to himself all those times?! None of this makes any sense I carefully read all answers and the contradictions just seem to be endless. Sorry for butting in on your question space I could not help myself and next time I will get my own question space thank you!

When I used to go to church (force by parents!), I would always ask that question. I always got the answer of "he is the son of god" or "read the bible, you'll see."

Still doesn't explain a lot. This is one of the reasons people don't beleive in god, most of it doesnt make any sense, and there is very little to back up the bible and everything that is religion.

What's so great about this Jesus guy is HE paid for your sin and you don't have to die now unless you choose to!
Everyone sins and the penalty is death and no one is good enough to be the payment for them in anyone, so God came to earth in the form of His Son, born in a human body and never sinned and sacrificed Himself to pay for the sins of the world... IF YOU WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PLAN! There is NO OTHER plan!
What a guy!! What kinda fool would keep refusing this offer?
About the Louve, isn't it amazing that He turns up just everywhere!!??

If you are a beleiver in Jesus, you would understand whats so great about the sinless, guitless, man who gave his life and shed his blood so we might have a choice between heaven and hell. Without that sacrifice we would all go to hell when we died. But God loved us so much he sent his only son to save our souls from eternal damnation.

Jesus is the Son of God.

Don't worry He doesn't mind your unbelief and He will just laugh at it.

Psalm 37:13
The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

Psalm 59:8
But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

Proverbs 1:26
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

The best thing about Jesus is that he loves people who ask stupid questions just as much as he loves those who are intelligent.

He can get you into this great place called Heaven. Even Paris Hilton can't get you into that club.

If he exists, which i believe he does, then he saved my soul from eternal damnation. I think that's a pretty great thing about him.
