I hope not.

Even though I am a Christian, I do not want my government adhereing to any religion - even mine. The US government is a human construct which reflects the will of its people - even if that will is evil.

Many of my friends cry that "we have no more prayer in school" and that's why "we have all these problems in society." I do not want school-sponsoered prayer. Why?

Well, first of all, whose prayer? If the teacher or class leader is a Christian, then all the non-Christians are asked to violate their faith by participating. If the leader is Wiccan or pagan, the same problem occurs. Both are sins, IMHO.

Ok - "why can't we all get along?" - how about a "generic God" prayer? Even more disgusting to all - I do not want my government designing a generic god that honors none and (if truth be told) offends all - Christian, Jew, Muslim, pagan, athiest and Wiccan alike. And Satanists, too.

Ok, off my soap box. But beware "Prayer in School" campaings - you may just get what you want. And lose your God in the process.

Given the high proportion of Americans who believe in the literal truth of the Bible, he jolly well might be. Maybe that's the trouble!
