there is no reason for you not to eat after certain time of the day - its old wifes tales.
as long as you dont consume more calories a day than spend you are not gona gain any weight - its all about calories in vs calories out (your body actually goes into a little starvation mode while you sleep and there is no reason for you to prolong that period)
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), weight training a few days a week but never work on the same muscle group two days in a row (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You can lose weight by writing down everything that you eat. Read your labels, and count the calories. Becel makes a Cooking and Topping Spray (in a little spritzer bottle) it has zero calories! It will help you to add flavour! Try dancing, if you get tired of jogging.

this is how you lose weight.
estimate about how many calories you eat a day and then subract 250 calories from that number of calories. that is the number of calories you should eat to lose weight. plus excersise. and drink alot of water.. or make fruit shakes to displace food....usually healthier food gives you more energy.
hope i could help. the point to losing weight is to bur more calories than you eat. so if you eat something, try excersising afterwards. just dont eat and then sit around...

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.

yah that'll work. but you can also try this: eat a apple in the morning with low fat milk and then if you go swimming for an hour (non-stop), you will loose atleast 1000 calories. on average you eat 2000 calories a day so it's like cutting off half of the food that you eat. : )
