For me it's generally a conflicted conscience. The feeling goes away when I've consciously made things right.

Well, the funny thing is, I felt absolutely relieved when I finally researched Christianity from the roots upward and found out it wasn't what I had been led to believe my whole life. Up until then, I always felt condemned, unworthy, empty and lost. As soon as I saw the 'light' all of that went away and I felt truly happy with myself and with my life for the first time. I'm not an Atheist, but I'm also not a relgious person. Instead, I'm free to explore and discover . . . to be open minded and seek the truth on my own terms. Much MUCH better this way. :)

In a complicated society such as our is not a mystery that anyone suffers from some kind of anxiety, unfulfilled feelings, emptiness etc.. Religion believes based on supernatural fantasies does nothing but accentuate the problem.
To be responsible for our actions, and respectful of others are mostly secular sentiments.. Not religious.

Many people focus on what they are lacking in life.

The more you THINK about the lack, the more you FEEL negative emotions.

This can snowball into a vicious circle, and people who are so-called clinically depressed go through it all the time.

Although I am not a person of faith, I am able to focus on what I want, and what I am thankful for in my life.

If you are unfulfilled, THINK about wanting fulfillment, think about what you like to DO with your time.

Do you LIKE gardening, or playing the piano?

Go fishing or take a healthy walk.

The more you set your own mind in a pattern of thinking about your HAPPINESS, and actively doing things that make you happy (this can be free of charge by the way) the less inclined you will be to focus on suffering and lack.

Also you will FEEL positive emotions.

Without any help from religion.

Anyone who feels 'incomplete' and is in continual search for 'completeness' is on a fools errand.

If you do not feel complete within yourself you will not find the rest external from yourself. One has but to accept that they ARE complete. Incompleteness is an illusion of the mind. So by all means, search external from yourself. After perhaps most of your life is gone you'll figure out that all you had to do was look within yourself. You were always complete. It takes psychological and emotional growth to realize that nothing external from yourself can make you complete.

No gods are needed.

Depression is usually the result of some chemical imbalance. Or sometimes you're just not happy. I don't think it has anything to do with not believing in god.

Christians feel this way too. If you don't have that restless feeling in life, I don't think you're trying to live very well.

We are born spiritual, emotional, mental and physical.... religion disrupts that balance...if they fill unspiritual it's because the chruch sucked out their spirit and forgot to put a drone back in... seriously we are responsible for maintaining our own balance... there are ways of healing but not one of them come from religion

It can mean I'm bored and need to find something fulfilling to do. I usually go to the library and browse for something new to learn.
