I have just found a Hanimex BC 999 1970's calculator in my garage. It does work and has red LED numbers, when you type the numbers in order the screen only fits 8, its in a soft black pouch, have googled this but can not find any info - do people collect these and if so are they worth anything.

There was one for sale on ebay a few months ago. The starting bid was £0.01 with postage costs of £3.49 but no one bought it. See link:

It's only worth what someone will pay for it. It has no functional value at all, but as a collector's item, well, you may find someone who wants it, but not too likely.

There's a site with all sorts of vintage calculator information, including a FAQ in which the question "how much is it worth" is answered. See below in Links section. Vintagecalculators.com

Go to the site, explore, but maybe you want to become a collector, and find some comparable calculators and setup a website describing your collection. You might think I'm kidding, but there may be some folks interested in what you are able to scrounge up.

I would not think so. I had an old Casio FX29, which I gave away to someone mounting an art exhibition. It was a calculated risk on her part because she was going to take the thing apart, but I did not mind one bit.

I still have a Sharp calculator, with box, from 1986.
