I had that card for almost 5 years and it was my first card of the two that I have ever had. I called the company and told them and they cancelled the number and gave me a new card.

My question is, because I got a new number, does this mean that my account with the credit bureaus will start anew and all the good history will become old since a new card/account was issued and the old one cancelled?

Oh if only it were so easy! lol

No you'll keep your history because likely your account number will stay the same even though they issue you a new card..
