The doctrines of the Reformation can be summarized as a) the rejection of papal authority, b) rejection of some fundamental Roman Catholic doctrines, c) the priesthood of all believers, d) the primacy of the Bible as the only source of revealed truth, and e) the belief in justification by faith alone.
not so fun - holy rollers are though. and some baptist branches.
mormons are sometimes fun - lots of food and parties. the last (and current) lds prophet is Gordon B. Hinckley.

Protestants believe in the same basic tenets as Catholics do: Principally, the Trinity, the redemptive act of Jesus, who is the second person of the Trinity, His triumphant return to Earth, and life everlasting.
The Pope indeed is a man, but much more intelligent and more respected than Bush. Look for an AME church. (African Methodist Episcopal Church) Their services are always very lively and spirit filled.

If you're looking for a fun church, I suggest you search deep within yourself and begin to understand your faith. I hear all too often about how people are unhappy with their traditional churches, and their boredom, etc.
But the problem lies deeper than with the church that you attend. If you cannot find spiritual fulfillment--the uplifting feelings that you can have and maintain by the understanding and love of your religion, within your own church, then you have some soul searching to do. You may not be happy within any church until you do.
Protestant churches, mostly the ones considered "non-denominational" churches have energizing sermons, and uplifting "performances," which often emulate pop-rock concerts, with very inspirational messages. While, as a Catholic myself, I suggest you still attend your regular mass, try a Saturday evening service at a less traditional church. If you look into it as a way to deepen your relationship with God, through Christ, it can be fulfilling, exciting, and more like what you are looking for. But this way, you can still adhere to your traditional religious custom, and receive the sacraments through your own parish.
I may be Catholic, and though I do not attend protestant churches on a regular basis, I understand and value what protestant churches do to bring people in, and turn them to God.

I was a teenage Lutheran and our church was very, very boring. Mind you, I now associate boring church architecture with sanctity. Growing up in Ireland where everybody else is Catholic, I think Catholic churches are in really bad taste.
We Lutherans believe that justification is by faith alone - in other words, do what you want, as long you believe in the Resurrection, God will forgive your sins. Oh yeah, and you don't have to confess them either. And you only have to go to church once a year.
I gave up and became an atheist because, frankly, it was kind of like the same ballpark.

well the protestants were the people who protested against some of the catholic church's beliefs, i believe divorce might have been one of them. Unlike most Protestant churches, Catholic masses are conducted in a liturgical fashion, with much emphasis upon symbols, rituals and ceremony. but for the one where they sing and dance like 'PRAISE THE LORD!!!' are usually methodist. my fam and i go to a roman catholic church and i know we dont do any dancing unless kneeling and standing and sitting are moves. lol.
hope this helps
good luck on finding the right church!
edit: sorry i think the methodists are a sect of protestantism so yeah some of teh protestants have fun churches

If you want a fun place, go to an amusement park. But if you are interested in the truth, seek and you will find. Jesus promised that he would accept all those who would come to him humbly. Think about the motives behind your spiritual search. Are you just "shopping around" for a new outfit, or want to have a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe and peace and joy that come as a result of it?

Mormons are so NOT fun, are you kidding? On top of that they are demeaning to women. Don't believe me, look it up. Polygamy is demeaning, don't you think? Protestants are everything from liberal Lutherans to very conservative baptists that tell you you're going to hell because you wear certain clothes or swear. The "dancing and stuff" church is probably black baptists or maybe Pentecostal. Catholics are fun in their own way: lots of ceremony and in the end they do what they want - have fun!

Yeah, that's a lot of non-denominational churches where they have a band and people dance and sing and stuff.
They don't recite prayers that everyone knows and that have no meaning. They teach that you pray to God like talking. You pray what's on your mind and what you're thankful for in normal language.
And non-denominational churches only push beliefs that are from the Bible, not tradition.
That's my kind of church :)

I am a baptist. Some might call me a protestant, but I consider myself an evengelical. I don't care about the leadership of the catholic church.
I am not a baptist not because I think it is fun to be one, but because I agree with the beliefs. If you go to church to be entertained, no telling where you will end up. It's about worshiping God. Not about dancing for fun.
God bless.
