IT'S IN THE PARENTING

2007-08-14 12:07:41 · answer #1 · answered by CRYSTAL S 6 · 2 2

Not all teenagers are like that, and people have been complaining that young people aren't as good as they used to be for CENTURIES - there are Roman scholars writing how the youth in their day were loud and disrespectful of authority. The only ones you ever hear about are the ones on the streets in plain view - and even they aren't always bad. You never see the ones at home studying.

The problem may well be getting worse - but I believe a large part of the blame lies on parents who don't care what their children do, and if the school complains to them will ALWAYS side with the child against the teachers. If a child is anti-social punish the parents too. That should bring some discipline back home to the ones that need it.

They shall be arrested, put on trial, found guilty and serve time in the harshest prisons we can build. Most will repeatedly return to prison but with new laws they will spend the rest of their lives in prison for repeat offenders like in the USA. At just what age do you stop calling them kids and just convicts? When does somebody mention how the "brilliant" sociologists from the 40's and on were/are wrong? The "brilliant" social engineering went wrong just like Marx's and Engles' economics proved a collosal disaster. When do we pull down THAT damned wall? Outrageous liberal childrearing and education has failed God Damn it! Wake up and smell the coffee! A new generation may emerge of a better sort which believes in discipline and hard work and proper living WHEN the great experiment is over. Until then, they get the hard end of the stick! March On!

When you can spell discipline, you can complain about it. Obviously you didn't have the discipline to run a spell check before you posted. Work a bit more on that whole punctuation thing, while you're at it.

On to your question... Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a high school graduation ceremony. The valedictorian read from a speech that sounded much like your question (though better punctuated, of course). He then read another that was, in spirit nearly identical. One was from a local newspaper story from the last year. The other was an argument to a Pharaoh, in the last days of Egypt. It would seem that the previous generation maligns the next for acting as they did, when they were that age.

I apologize for my opening tone, but, goodness gracious, how can anything you say have validity if you cannot be bothered to spell it?

Excuse me?
What you are doing in judging all teenagers on "Chavs".
When not all of them are like that!
Also if a youth is "aggressive , cant be told anything . flount the law , noisy " Its not all down to the parents. Good parents children can turn out ot be a "Chav" or whatever, because thats what they see as cool etc...

Today's youth are going to grow up, like we all did. I don't know about you, but teenagers haven't changed since I was a teen. I was aggressive, couldn't be told anything, founted the law, was noisy. I didn't care.

However, somewhere in the process of aging, I got a clue. I went on to be a productive, college-educated citizen in the legal community.

So quit whining. You were probably the same way.

How many parents have spoken those lines generation after generation?
A better question might be asked why did the parents raise their children this way.
We are a society quickly going down hill and it's not all the fault of the teenagers

people always are too quick to blame the parents..as i once did myself..but i got a teenage son aka ned boy as i like to call him..he has been up to all sorts and been in bother with the police more times than i care to remember..we've attended a few childrens panels..but he has never been made to pay for his wrongs..because he is under a supervision order he keeps getting away with his crimes..ive always put boundries on him but he dont listen..so stop blaming parents and blame the system cos somethin needs to be done with todays youth..they got too many rights now

One thing is parents can't correct thier kids with a swat on the behind. Parents don't let children be children anymore, instead children today grow up way early in life due to the ways of society. Adults think time spent with children is to give them a game machine, sit in front of tv to eat dinner, and communication is lost. But NOT ALL CHILDREN ARE DISRESPECTFUL. It is up to us as parents to raise are children with morals and respect. You cannot place blame on a child where the parents should be the ones blame for lack of giving thier children values of life.
