Did you hear about that Mexican Ex-Con who says he's Jesus Christ and has 666 tattooed on his arm or hand or something??? His followers get 666 tattooed on themselves too. It's pretty funny.
Oh, right, so back to my answer: 666 is a superstition. Lots of people are superstitious about something or another! I'm willing to bet that there are many people that won't even read this post/question/whatever because they are so terrified. Poor tortured souls.

I know!!!! finally someone who agrees with me....
We even went to that stupid place, um, Chucky Cheese, for my lil bros Friends bday, and when you have to go in you have to get stamped... and i was about to get the # 666
and they stopped and said "oops sry that's the # 666,"
and they started to change it around,
and i was like "oh no its OK"
And the girl was like, "no we're not aloud to stamp ppl with the # 666"
And i todaly rolled my eyes... and i had to wait ANOTHER 2 mins to prossess some stupid thing onto there computer! I was SOOOO freakin pissed

Hi! Because of superstitions, many people do not want to be associated with the numbers "666". Years ago, I got a telephone call from a distant relative (I did not know him) who was doing geneology research. He found my name and my telephone number in his database and called me. I spoke to him for 10 minutes, then we were exchanging e-mail addresses and he gave me his -- it had his full name followed by "666". I politely ended the call. He e-mailed me, but I never responded. I was too uncomfortable and I really did not know him. Hope this helps!

i really dont know the story behind the whole 666 thing, but it never really bothered me. in fact, for that reason alone that's now one of my favorite numbers =] hehe but i am pretty curious about why some people get so freaked out about it....

I'm more frightened by the galloping spread of illiteracy.
Setting that aside, humans live with a background of anxiety, knowing that they're going to die, and not knowing when. Anything that offers hope of letting us know the future, however silly that thing might be, is eagerly seized upon and elevated to the level of "prophecy."

Doesn't bother me it is just a number as far as I am concerned and I am a Christian..I think it is more of a superstition like black cats, broken mirrors, walking under ladders etc.
