Don't start jogging with him now!
The dog is not finished growing and you could deform the legs with too much jogging.
Wait at least a year.
And I agree to start slowly.......
As for runners, I would say decent. Probably not as good as a lab, but my little toy poodle loves to run.... so I would say poodles love to run.
Don't let peoples' rude comments get you down, some people just like to come on yahoo answers and rant about things not even pertaining to the question.

Dead wrong on the schnoodle. Not sure if mine is miniature (15 LBS). Izzie is my most faithful running partner and has been for 8 years. We log 25-30 miles per week and it is her favorite think to do. We run trails and I have never had the need to keep her on a leash. She may chase after deer or squirrels but come right back to me.

As a relatively small dog, it won't make a great running partner and probably won't want to go as far as you want to. Wait till age one when the dog is fully mature and its joints are fully developed and start slowly so there are no injuries (just the same as people).

breeders say don't start running the dogs till after 1 years, because that's when there bones stop growing . and yes they make good runners just watch him to make sure he is not over exerting himself

A miniature what? You should be asking will my mutt that I paid big bucks for from a backyard breeder would make good runners.
How the heck would anybody know? It's a mutt pure and simple.

Call it like it is. It's a mutt. Not a "Schnoodle", not a Mini Mutt, a mutt. And no, they don't make good joggers. Large breeds typically make good joggers. Should've gotten a Labradoodle...oh, wait, that's a mutt, too...

They aren't as great as, say, Labs, but they're okay. Smaller dogs tend to need less exercise. Don't take him on long runs for another month or two.

Probably not. They will not want to run very far.
